The aroma was amazing and the coco and milk sugar complimented the stout beer perfectly . I really enjoyed it . The packaging also was very nice and said premium to me. Thanks for your hard work in Guelph. azzurro (257) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2017
Wellington’s stout reminds me of the Tom Green. Same league, well done. Good milk stout. JesseM (1158) - Margaritaville, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 17, 2012
473mL can from the brewery, though I also had this on tap at Imbibe last night. The can is actually better and that is what I’m rating from (the can also says 7.2% abv). Pours a viscous dark brown with a large bubbly head that looks like it came from a cask. Aroma: anise, chocolate sauce, sweet rich malts, very nice. Flavour: Really nice smooth character, chocolate malts, mild anise, almost no bitterness or roasted malt character, and no booze presence at all. Dangerously easy-drinking for the strength. This is really one of the better Welly One-Off ventures. robinvboyer (4683) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 24, 2014
750ml swing top bottle. Jet black pour, big, rocky brown head. Lots of sweet cocoa in the aroma, with some lactic sweetness too with a decent amount of roasty malts, and some coffee. Thick mouth feel, very soft carb. The finish is sweet and chocolatey, with more lactic sweetness, and the roasty coffee rounds it out. A great dessert stout! Has a pungent aroma of musky malt with some smoke and a little lactose and coffee. Palate is a little watery. A little lacing, pours pretty black with some head. Some bitterness at the end. Pretty full taste - among Wellington’s better. The lactose isn’t that prominent. On tap at volos. samzim (428) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 10, 2014
Bitter chocolate aroma. Opaque, dark brown colour. Flavour of milk chocolate and honey. Medium body and low carbonation. Very tasty. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 10, 2014
750 ml bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass. KansaiBeerLvrs (5158) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 25, 2014
App.: Deep brown-black with a nice deep mocha head.
Aroma: Roasted barley, dark chocolate, a little grape jam, dark-roasted coffee, a touch ashen, black strap molasses, sweet, dark and delicious.
Palate: Medium-full body with silky carbonation and a powdery, lightly astringent finish.
Flav.: Quite sweet and rich, lots of rich chocolate and a touch of coffee, cocoa powder, a little grape jam, a bit of molasses, so sweet, thick and rich; sweet without being cloying due to sufficient bitterness and a long dark-roasted malt, chocolatey finish.
Unctuous. Lovely stuff, even on a 30 degree summer’s day.
7.2% 750ml bottle from the LCBO. The beer pours a pitch black with a solid tan head that dissipates into a ring around the glass. Rich chocolate, umami, soft cocoa and lactose. Full bodied with a velvety soft mouthfeel. The taste is soft milky chocolate, roasty, a bit of a cross between cacao/coffee. Richly sweet and delicious. cyrenaica (1126) - Milton, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 28, 2014

The beer pours a dark brown with a generous light brown head which quickly dissipates. The aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, and hits of licorice. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour definitely has chocolate milk characteristics, although it is dark chocolate. I liked this beer, but not as much as their Morning Brew Coffee Cream Stout.
