I don't know about strong. Pours a slight head with a brown body. Rather average with a slight bitter finish...

Radek Kliber (7501) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - NOV 28, 2002
Brownish colour, small head, decent malt aroma. Bitter roasted coffee. I was not fun of this one, to one dimensional, needs something more...

3.5
jbrus (4988) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - NOV 14, 2002
Strong apple aroma. Brown color, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, smooth, nice hops, fruits like old apple. Long lasting finish with hops and a little burn. Not exceptional but very nice.

3.6
dhurtubise (568) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 21, 2002
Light, malty, nutty aroma. Dark amber with cream coloured head. Rich malty, full bodied, strong sweet raisiny taste, flavour and aroma hops used, (fuggles i think). Rather thin lingering finish.

dark fruity aroma. chocolatey, raisiny. sweet, but not too sweet. very tasty.

Despite the deep amber colour, brown-hued head and definite malt aroma, this ale was not as heavy as I expected. The body is malty and sweet, and leaves behind a bitter coffee aftertaste which is not unpleasant. It does seem to improve with time, and I enjoyed the beer more as I neared the bottom of the pint glass, since the beer lost some of its carbonation and gained a smoother feel and more sweetness. This leads me to think it could be delicious as a non-carbonated cask ale.

daboskabouter (1469) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 17, 2002
Dark red. Very fruity nose with a touch of hops. Good maltiness, hints of fruit and alcohol in the body. Finishes nicely bitter. Another quality offering from Wellington.

3.4

I'm not the biggest fan of English Strongs, but this one is quite good...and a fair representative of the style, I think. Malts are a bit sweet.
