Nice roasty malt taste. The finish is a little bit weak and watery or else I would probably give it an even higher mark but on the other hand that makes it easy to drink and it is still a very nice strong ale. Most of the flavour is in the foretaste. This brewery seems to be much better with darker, stronger beers than lighter pale beers. thorongil2 (3553) - , Ontario, CANADA - JUN 23, 2011
(bottle) clear dark amber with small brown head; faint aroma of stewed fruit, bit metallic at the beginning; balanced satisfying flavour, quite good beernbourbon (1604) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - FEB 23, 2011
Bottle (one of the sweetest bottle caps ever). Pour is deep clear brown with a small quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is corn malt, faint dark fruit, and light brown sugar. Flavor is lightly sweet with notes of brown sugar and faint fruit. Very clean flavor and effervescent body. This is so easy to drink. RayOhm (474) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 18, 2011
very nice aroma of roasty malts, chocolate and sweet fruit (cherries?). the flavour was quite nice too, a little on the light side but very good for an ontario beer. manuchampions (1245) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 5, 2011
Old rate. 355ml bottle from my cellar, aged for a couple of years. Having had this before I can’t say aging has done anything remarkable for this beer. Tastes much as it did when first bought. Pours a deep, dark copper colour. Aroma of raisins, and lots of malts. Has a hoppy and sweet flavour with moderate complexity. Alcohol appears towards the end but in balance. Decent.

341 bottle. Pours deep red-brown with thin white head. Nice aroma of berries, malt, maybe raisins? Taste is complex and sweet, with slight bitter finish. Has that characteristic Wellington taste that I can’t quite put my finger on. Great winter-warmer, and stands alongside the Imperial Stout as this brewers best work. pours dark red brown, no to little head, get coffee and caramel/toffee aroma, somewhat smooth, little bitter on the finish. mcberko (19803) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 6, 2010
341mL bottle from manuchampions, pours cloudy golden amber with a small head. Aroma of oak, bourbon, vanilla, and a little coffee. Flavour is quite oaky, with vanilla, a bourbon aged quality and caramel malts. Quite good. Spab (4217) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 6, 2010
341 ml bottle from Beer Store. Pours a clear dark brownish ruby with small off-white to light tan head. Aroma is fairly mild with nuttiness and sweet fruit. Flavour is quite malty - caramel and nutty with some sweet dark fruit, light chocolate and roast. RC8 (305) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 3, 2010
Solid strong beer with a pretty complex malty flavour and an alcoholic bite. Wouldn’t drink large amounts of it, but it’s well worth trying.
