Bottle @ Rhino. Deep, dark, almost opaque amber brown. Inky aroma. Low carbonation. Metallic and mild.

Very good, molasses cake aroma with chocolate. Dark brown, but still transparent. Love the redcoat on the bottle. Very smooth, goes a bit acidic. Bitter chocolate, stewed fruit. ABV shines through at times. Velvety feeling, but the body is mostly medium weight. Some green fruit or grassiness in the finish, followed by parched grain. Very good.

Strong apple aroma. Brown color, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, smooth, nice hops, fruits like old apple. Long lasting finish with hops and a little burn. Not exceptional but very nice.

341 ml bottle at Pub Italia in Ottawa, in the company of CapFlu. A frothy fast-dying bubbly tan head tops the dark amber-maple body....hugely caramel-sweet aroma offers raisins and plums and faint but subtly pleasing hints of alcohol as well, inviting and dark....loads of brown sugar-caramel in the body, a touch of ashy-woody character, very creamy-smooth mouthfeel, perhaps a bit thin but oh-so drinkable, alcohol not at all present on the tongue. Quite nice.

Strong aroma you don't have to search for. Sweet and malty. Dark copper with fairly active small bubbles and very light head. Initial taste of malt, comfortable prescence of alcohol and an excellent lasting hop finish. A certain combination of smoke, walnut and spruce is present as well.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a dark brown color with a one finger white foamy head that gently dissipated to leave a light somewhat foamy lacing roaming along the glass in a slight trickling sort of fashion. The smell started off with a rich nuttiness eventually allowing a light vanilla and then an intruding chocolate with a decent booziness. The taste took all of those flavors and combined wonderfully. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionability to it. The carbonation finishes slightly harsh and its got a deal boozy vanilla aftertaste. Overall, this was a pretty good offering that I would have again.

nice fruity nose, and sweet. the malt runs though, and it there, and compliments the sweetness. tiny bit of a bitterness in the finish, an overall nice beer.

This beer has a beautiful deep ruby color with a fluffy off-white head that left a nice lace on the glass. The initial sensation is of an intensely malty beer that warms up to bring out the sherry, caramel tones. The finish is nice a clean and very balanced. I would have guessed the ABV to be a little higher. A very good beer.
