dark brown colour, chocolate and cherry aroma, malty, sweet, caramel aftertaste - very pleasant BeerLimey (2154) - California, USA - MAY 21, 2001
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2004 Nice strong English style ale. Close to a brown ale, mostly malt/chocolatey, nice deep fruitiness. Slightly dry finish. Might also work as a winter warmer. billb (245) - Acworth, Georgia, USA - JAN 14, 2002
A damn fine strong ale. A bit of sour apples and alcohol in the aroma. A complex maltiness hits you right up front followed by a bit of alcohol and a bit of hops and alcohol in the finish. The color is a dark red, almost mahogany and the carbonation is damn near perfect by my standards (light to fair medium). jsquire (4563) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JUL 10, 2002
This beer has a beautiful deep ruby color with a fluffy off-white head that left a nice lace on the glass. The initial sensation is of an intensely malty beer that warms up to bring out the sherry, caramel tones. The finish is nice a clean and very balanced. I would have guessed the ABV to be a little higher. A very good beer. SimonPatrice (312) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 1, 2003
Mahogany body, beige head. Malty aroma, cookie dough, caramel, dark fruits. Strong malt flavor, big body, blueberries in the after taste. Nice hopping to balance it off. A big thanks to Captain Flurries for this beer.

This beer rocks!
Sparkling clear and as coppery as a freshley-minted penny. Not much of a head.
Some chocolate notes and yeasty, doughy characteristics along with geueze in the aroma.
Very malty flavor with rich cream and butter in the flavor. Sherry and alcohol too.
Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Lengthy, bittersweet finish. World Class Brew! ruggedman (647) - Portland, Maine, USA - MAR 30, 2006
Bottle thanks to HogTownHarry. Pours a nice brown with a little tan head. Flavors are very nice though malt, some sweet, and a nice warming roasted flavor. This is a perfect beer for a cold night! This reminds me of many of the winter brews we have around here. It’s somewhat complex and well balanced, yet extremely drinkable. This is a good one, a personal favorite from this company. mcbackus (758) - Merritt Island, Florida, USA - APR 22, 2008

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2011 341ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is nutty, with heavy notes of cocoa, molasses, and alcohol. The taste is again cocoa heavy, with faint molasses, woody notes, vanilla, dried fruits as it warms, and a bitter finish. Really seems to have improved in the last couple of years. Flavourful and easy drinking. Well done. Pringao_Toribi (355) - Oviedo, SPAIN - OCT 11, 2013
Great dark beer, with dried fruit reminiscences in its aroma and with a heavy an clean flavour.
