473mL can from the brewery. Pours a clearish dark brown with a large beige head that leaves lacing. Aroma is superb, layered malt complexity, lots of caramel, roasted malt, toffee, coffee cake, slightly earthy, but what really stands out is the hops, which don’t seem out of place. Flavour is even better, with bittering hops upfront, matched perfectly with waves of malty awesomeness. The deep, rich caramalt aspect reminds me of a Dopplebock, which is always a good thing in my books. ’Chewey’ is a good word here if it makes any sense. Finishes with some dryness and delicious hop flavour. Lingering roasted malt notes. No hint of alcohol, and the body is somewhat full on the palate in a pleasing way. This is absolutely fantastic stuff, very glad I drove out to the brewery to get some. Reimer96 (1743) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 4, 2016
Love the use of sorachi ace in this beer... Nice and spicy with a complimentary of pine and citrus peels. Excellent hoppy brown ale with compliments of nuts and caramel. yrstruly (333) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 8, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 19, 2014 Pours deep brown with a light tan head. The dominant hop aroma offers a lot of fresh grapefruit, with very slight roasty notes. The taste is of a clean, nicely made IPA - not too bitter up front, the malt is there but not the focus, a slight bit of toast. Citrusy hop finish with some slight herbal and spicy notes. This is the best beer I’ve had from this brewery. mnurda (1284) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 31, 2014

Can, thanks to scott. Really tasty stuff. Very easy finish and a good solid body. Lots of hoppy character, very earthy. Think this is the best one off from welly so far Marheb (5717) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 26, 2012
En fût au Gambrinus, London, Ont.:Corps caramel touffu, plein de rondeur avec une morsure végétale et d’agrumes. Moyenne amertume bien supporté par la richesse du malt. Très agréable. robinvboyer (4611) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 1, 2012
Nutty, good cereal malts, light citrus, piney hops. Lovely pine resin finish with a shot of nutty, woody malts. Great stuff. HippyHop (654) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 16, 2016
Surprised to see this stuff getting so little love. Beautiful, dark mahogany colour - I want a desk and leather armchair to match. Citrus/pine hops on the nose, with an earthy, nutty caramel malt backdrop. Taste is nutty and fruity, lots of fragrant hops, and a finish that’s just the right amount of bitter for the style (IMHO). Not as good as Le Castor’s Eclipse, or Pit Caribou’s Brown Ale Americaine, but in the same mould. Really nice, really drinkable.
