It truly is a premium lager. a slightly sweet after taste. Very good on autumn afternoon. It is one of the better lagers I’ve tasted from Ontario. Can’t wait till next autumn.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2004 Golden colour. Softly malty, nearly chewy. The low carbonation contributes to a pleasant, very soft and filling mouthfeel. Flavourful with a hint citrus, but rather low bitterness. One of the best North American lagers I've sampled.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2007 As far as "discount" beers go, this one is King in my opinion. There’s some great Saaz hops in here, and a nice malty balance that makes it very enjoyable. Welly sure does keep pleasing me! It’s a discount beer for god sake, lower your high and mighty impy stout standards people.

473 ml can from the LCBO. this one blew me away. pours golden with a nice white head nad steady carbonation. pefect lager appearance. aromas are great bready malts with saaz creeping around the corner. great flavour for a lager with nice matiness and nice saazy finish. very enjoyable.

Lite, well maintained head. Dry and crisp finish. A lite beer that can be drank in large quantities.

Simple lager. Decent aftertaste........................................

Papillon (424) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 11, 2010
473 mL Can. Yellow-gold body with a fizzy-foamy white head that quicly settles to a thin wispy layer. Aroma of grains, earth, yeast, a grassy-floral innuendo, a whisper of banana, and a pungent tang. Light-bodied yet solid, not watery. Light malts dominate in the flavor, nice prickly carbonation on the tongue, hops say "hi" in the aftertaste, and light sweet malts linger in the aftertaste. I like it.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2003 A good beer with above average taste and dark golden colour. Not anything to write home about.
