COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, Pasteurised.
This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

I am not a fan. I had higher expectations. I was firmly let down. It does smell great though. It looks alright, kind of a funny orange color, but the flavor is very weak and kinda gross. Fruit beer lovers may like it.

50cl bottle. Pours clear golden with a small creamy head and lacings. Nose is banana and malts. Quite synthetic and scary. Taste has a lot of malts, some bread and again banana. One dimensional and artificial , could have been worse though! Medium and smooth palate.

(on bottle) Makes me so glad it´s not all about hops and malts; where would the fun be? Pale, brown, clear and a white head. Very tropic and fat sent, had the beer cold and the aroma got more intense as the beer got warmer. Yet, never cloying, strangely. The taste it self where pretty waterish and sweet. The bananas are present, but a small bitter finish saves the beer as a sesiondrink. Funny.

58.6 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a slowly diminished white head. Aroma is sweet and slight rotten banana. Fruity banana flavoured, yet with a vague residual sweetness and somewhat dry and slight bitter. Bitter and dry finish. Slight metallic touch - DNF.

Flaske: Man skal bestemt kunne lide banan for at kunne lide denne øl. Brun gennemsigtig med et lille skumhoved. Kraftig duft og smag af banan, med et meget lille humlebid. Rimelig ensidig.

Bottle. Amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma: banana and malty sweetness. Taste: Like a rather watery, metallic, english ale at first, then comes strong bananaflavor and sweetness. You must really be a banana kind of guy to like this beer. Not my cup of tea at all.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2009 Pours a clear copper with minimal white head. Aroma is bananas, bananas, bananas! Crisp mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Flavor is strong bananas and a dry and slightly bitter aftertaste. I don’t know, going from the strong sweet banana to a bitter end doesn’t really do it for me. I was hoping for something with more spice or better balanced. Got worse as it warmed up. DNF.

Smells and tastes exactly as it should, just like a banana. Too dry and highly carbonated overall. The initial banana taste is ruined by an overly dry finish. Excellent banana taste but the finish ruins this beer for me.

Timfoolery picked up this beer. Smelled like...bananas. Very thin and weak on flavor and on the palate. I was expecting something great and it fell way below expectation.

You bastards! How dare you make my all but perfect beer. Who do you think you are over there at Wells & Youngs? Are you the bastard child of a franziskaner monk and a Ninkasi herself? Pours a B-E-A-utiful sparkling red/amber with just enough head and aroma of pilzner and perfectly ripe bananas. Then it drinks exactly like it smells. NO small task in beer making. OUT FN STANDING!
