This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Sampled at Cellars Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of banana bread with some roasted walnuts, and multi-grain malt, Taste is medium bodied, some light carbonation with flavors of a dry banana bread with a touch of sugar, dry biscuit malt and some imitation banana. Finish is semi-sweet, a light banana and grain aftertaste with no bitterness. An interesting concept but not one of my favorites. I rather have banana beer bread instead.

Kind of reminded me of the candy called Circus Peanuts.... GROSS. But after a while, it got better. I was hoping for more spice/wheat flavors. It is false advertising to call this "Banana Bread Beer." It should simply be called "Banana Beer." But then no one would buy it. But thats what it is.

From a bottle. Pours an amber color. Aroma of bananas and a bready note. Flavor has a artificial banana flavor. Sort of like the banana flavored "Runts" candy. Flavor is mostly banana and malt.

Pours a light amber color with thin white head that fades quicklt. Aroma is of unripened banana and light frassy hops. Taste is much the same with a one sided flop of banana. Blech! I guss there is a market for this crap but not me. To try this, mush a banana in you bud light and enjoy.

Huge blast of banana, like someone shoved a banana up each nostril, somebreadiness does make its way through, would not classify this as a "gentle nose". Taste is rather smooth banana and grain malt, you at first do get the impression of banana bread, but then this bitterness finishes it off ,like in addition to the banana ,you are now sucking on the peel,i like bananas but in a softer way

UPDATED: APR 6, 2008 Bottle. Copper caramel color with small head. Sweet aroma of banana and pie crust/cookie dough. Tastes almost exactly like it smells; faint bitterness at finish. Soft and mellow mouthfeel. Big banana flavor but not cloying or annoying. Very pleasant.
