This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Pretty much what it promises. Banana flavor at first with a hoppy, lingering bitter finish.

Sweet candy banana aroma with hints of sugar cake. Sweet, watery, banana taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a love or hate it beer, Captured the banana bread taste with bready malts. Has a natural dry banana taste rather than a synthetic syrupy taste. It’s quite sweet with some Muscovado sugar and light bitterness on the aftertaste. Tried around 2008.

My favourite liquid pudding tasting of bread, dough, banana, amber, clear, frothy, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, creamy, lively, long finish, nice after taste. Good any time of the day

Wonderful taste. If there was a mead/chunky breadlike consistency, you would think your eating blended banana bread. Delicious dessert beer. I recommend cleansing the pallette before enjoying. No hangover effects, so enjoy, but don’t drive.

Pours a frothy average amount of head but goes away quickly and leaves very little. Fairly weak lacing. Has a golden amber colour. Definitely has a banana like aroma, slightly bready and herbal hops. Flavours are quite distinctly banana bread, toffee sweetness with notes of caramel and spices. Slick oily mouthfeel with a prickly sensation. Slight bitterness. Really good sweet beer that’s not too offensive or over the top with the banana, but 1 or 2 will suffice in one sitting.

Bananas and toffee scents. Pours a honey brown with a dissipating off-white head. Lots of lacing. Banana flavors are not overwhelming and sit nicely with a steady ESB underneath. Dry mouthfeel with above average carbonation. Nice as a novelty.

Bottle from indigo yard. Nose is banana, bit artificial, bubblegum, honey, citrus. Palate is some banana, some bread, some sherry, very sweet. Weird. Ok.

Clear orange body with a huge, fluffy well lasting head. Sweet nose with notes of banana, caramel, honey and metal. Sweet bananabread flavor with a moderate smooth bitterness. Soft carbonation and light, splashy palate. Decent sweet flavorful beer.

@ Havregatan 20170525. Bottle (330 ml) from Systembolaget. Courtesy of Totte. Malty and bready with some light roasted notes, ripe banana, artificial feeling, mid sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is dry, mid bitter and malty.

330 ml bottle ageing in the fridge for a few months, so may have been a bit past its peak. Pours a hazy amber tone with a strong white head of foam. The froth dissipates relatively quickly leaving some sticky lacing, but reappears with swirling later. Unfortunately, I don’t detect the fabled bananas and bread in the bouquet, which I find are dominated by the traditional ale aromas - cereal, bread and dough in an earthy sort of way. In the mouth, however, a light taste of bananas is detectable, though it does not last too long before it is subsumed under the malty ale flavours. Overall, it tastes lightly sweet, with an average level of carbonation. Mouthfeel, however, is rather thin and a bit watery, hence a bit of a let down at the end.
