COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, Pasteurised.
This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Bottled (@home, BB 2008?).
Bottle from chriso, thanks Chris. Red color, good beige head, some particles. Metallic cellary aroma. Toffee, some banana and metal. Also cellary. Banana flavors are harmless. but this bottle is a bit off, so needs to be rerated sometime.

Bottled. Clear, deep golden beer with a small off-white head. Ripe bananas and notes of other tropical fruits in the aroma. The flavor is mostly banana too, but with some malt and hops. Lightly sparkling, medium body. I am surprised to learn that I like this one, even though I’m not fond of ripe bananas. (060713)

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2010 Medium bodied English styled ale with an earthy banana taste. It’s another one of those "love it" or "hate it" beers. I loved it. Has a cereal feel to it. Rating: 4.5 Rated 10/18/09 Pours amber with white head. Nose is slight banana. Taste is malty with banana and bread tones. Re rated: 3.6 (I was way off with my initial rating. I’m not sure why) 5/22/10

A: The pour is a golden amber color with plenty of carbonation and a nice off-white head. S: What can I say, it smells like banana bread. Sweet banana, subtle spices, and a light nutty aroma to it as well as some bready base malts. T: There is a slight bitterness to the flavor that I wasn’t completely expecting, but otherwise it (again) is quite reminiscent of banana bread. Sweet banana and caramelized sugar flavors, along with a hint of toasted nuts. M: The body is medium and the carbonation is a bit on the high side, which was actually sort of welcomed. D: I was not expecting too much from this beer, to be completely honest. However, I really enjoyed it. It did indeed taste like banana bread and was not cloying or overly artificial.

Bottle (Kings Head, Oxford) Very banana-ey, competant bitter, but the banana sweetness drowns the malt.

50cl bottle. Pours clear golden with a small creamy head and lacings. Nose is banana and malts. Quite synthetic and scary. Taste has a lot of malts, some bread and again banana. One dimensional and artificial , could have been worse though! Medium and smooth palate.

Bottle. Distinct banana aroma, slightly sickening. Clear copper colour, very small white head. Banana flavour, but not overly so. Quite malty with medium bitterness.

Bottle - Biscuit and banana. Clear gold with a decent beige head. Sweet candy banana and light bitterness. Not a fan.

Bottle. Smells like banana, even like banana bread. Copper amber color with an offwhite head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is malt, banana and nutty spice. Finish is not quite so pleasant as the start; there’s something bitter, which doesn’t go that well with banana. That clears up though, and in the end it’s dry with remnants of banana. Definitely not a hefe. Overall it’s pretty tasty.

Bottle as shown. Poured a orange copper color with a medium white head that dimishes quickly in a trappist glass. The aroma is a pungent banana. Decent lacing on this one. The taste is an overbearing banana with a sweet finish. The sweet banana taste takes away making it almost a fruit beer and not an english strong ale.
