COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, Pasteurised.
This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

DSG (14784) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JUN 7, 2011
Bottle. Clear deep golden to amber color with a small white head. Aroma of banana (and somewhat overripe bananas) and some toffee. Sweetish banana flavor, slightly acidic, with some malt (a bit caramelly) and a drier finish. Quite light-bodied. So-so.

Bottle as shown. Poured a orange copper color with a medium white head that dimishes quickly in a trappist glass. The aroma is a pungent banana. Decent lacing on this one. The taste is an overbearing banana with a sweet finish. The sweet banana taste takes away making it almost a fruit beer and not an english strong ale.

There are obviously 2 distinct versions of this. I have now drank the cask version at a nearby Chas Wells and it is fairly acceptable, though a pint is too much. There is an initially pleasant though strong Pear Drop/ Banana flavour, then going down the glass this changs to a cloying sweet perfume taste. The bottle is straight into the astringent perfume without the more delicate pear drops

Tmoney99 (14495) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 14, 2007
Bottle. Poured copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Good banana and butterscotch aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium balanced fruit flavor with medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This beer did meet my expectations.

A nice amber ale with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a sweet cloying banana, chemical and solventy. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with sweet mashed bananas, light astringence, cloying. Tasted Dec. 25 2011. BB 07-03-12. Bottle from LCBO.

3.2
Drake (13740) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 22, 2007
Bottle. Dark golden colored with large, thin head. Light lacing. Very light taste. The aroma and taste are naturally, stong banana. SOmehow this one seems thinner than the one I had in the past.
