McWorta (1633) - LUXEMBOURG - JUL 2, 2015
Copper-amber colour with a pillowy small off white had. Aromas of some sweetbread, malt and light citrus-floral notes arise. Lightly carbonated, bit thin texture and a light-medium body. Short sweetness makes way for some bitterness, all finishes though pretty quick.

Pint. had this many times but only just rating it. pours clear darkish amber with frothy white head. aroma is hops, weak malts and wet straw. nice balanced hoppy/malty and fruity taste. agree with others that this is nothing special but it is extremely easy to drink.

Pours two fingers of foamy head on a clear dark straw body. The aroma is rich caramel and lemon. The taste is perfect caramel sweetness with mild lemon bitterness. The texture is smooth with low carbonation. An awesome brew to have off cask.

Another one I’ve had a few times before but never got around to rating. Last time was in Wycombe, but I didn’t take notes. (3.1) This time it’s in Clapham. Cask. Hazy amber orange, still, small white head, some sparse lacing. Body is medium, low carbonation. Taste has watery squash, touch of pithy citrus skin, soft British noble hop character. Overall, it’s balanced but underflavoured. (3.1) again.

Alengrin (5639) - BELGIUM - SEP 14, 2014
Famed eastern English bitter with a somewhat hazy copper colour, thin but dense creamy head and fruity aroma (lots of apple) with a sulphuric accent, some peat, caramel and dough. Supple palate with nice fruitiness and hoppy bitter finish, very well balanced between fruitiness and hoppiness, as any good bitter should be. Deservedly a classic.

Cask at The Anglers Arms, Morpeth. Amber brown colour, thin white foam head and malty earthy aroma. Taste is malt, slight biscuit, nutty and light hop bitterness. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, earthy bitter finish. OK

On tap at the Duke of Devonshire, Eastbourne. Classic ale with no surprise. Light brown in its colour with just a bit of hops in the nose. Some nuts combined with a bit of malt and nust in the aftertaste. Nice and classic. Nothing special.
