Gravity dispense/stillage at the Tin Goose - LHR T1, 25/01/13. Clear dark golden copper with a thin off white head that retains. Nose is a little subdued, caramel malt, berry fruits, sugars, hint of plum. Taste carries a touch more depth, caramel malt, biscuit, dough, faint ribena notes. Medium in body, moderate carbnonation, some bitterness in the dry finish. Ok.

Tried for the first time in 2010 and only now getting to the rating. Golden and clear. Musty sweetness, watery and grassy aroma.

très bonne surprise pour cette bière anglaise. Relativement peu puissante , elle rappelle la Guiness par sa densité . Légère acidité.

Cask, half pint at Goat Tavern, London. Clear deep amber color with thin creamy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, bread and grassy and floral hops. Taste starts with light sweet caramel and toffee, follows by bready notes and mild fruity acidity and light bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. Smooth and drinkable...

On tap. Clear amber body with a large, creamy, off-white head, mostly lasting with some nice lacing. Moderate malty (hay, caramel, bread) and light hoppy (citrus) aroma with some fruity notes. Moderate sweet and light-to-moderate bitter flavour; long lasting finish with notes of bread. Light-to-medium body with watery texture; flat carbonation.

shrubber85 (11615) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUN 17, 2017
Nutty toffee malt and hay aroma. Chestnut brown with minimal head. Moderately sweet nutty toffee malt and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Good body. Nice, solid bitter.

Not too good, not too bad it is only a moderate beer imho....I teied the bottle version and it says 5,2% alcohol...higher than the barrel version I believe ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask pour into a pint glass. Clear, dark amber colour with a short white head that dissipated quickly. Sweet crystal malt on the nose. Slight toffee flavour with hints of classic earthy/grassy English hops. Very low carbonation.

Good grief, have I really not rated this before? red-brown with a lacing head, pleasing dry hopsack aromas, earthy and malty-sweet with a faint sulphurous tang, it’s in excellent condition - if I could guarantee that, I’d drink it a lot more often.
