Pours two fingers of foamy head on a clear dark straw body.
The aroma is rich caramel and lemon.
The taste is perfect caramel sweetness with mild lemon bitterness.
The texture is smooth with low carbonation.
An awesome brew to have off cask. DrunkenCumquat (86) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2005
On tap in London and at Norrlands Nation, Uppsala (Sweden) - tasted the same at both places, so I’m putting the same review in for the export and non-export versions. Nice and dark, creamy almost brown ale, but bitter and fruity. Great fruity aroms, very impressive overall. RichardGretton (4785) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 16, 2002
Dark beer with a coffee and chocolate aroma. Slightly bitter and a slightly burnt flavour. Palatable, a nice English ale. Joeh (2049) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2002
Cask-Conditioned. Dark brown. Malty, fruity & a little hoppy. Quality bitter.

mild pleasant hoppy aroma, dark brown hue, moderate frothy head gradually dissipating, average lacing, pleasant hoppy taste, not that much bitterness for a "bitter" sykelpumpe (3) - NORTHERN IRELAND - FEB 17, 2003 does not count
Never had much luck with it next to food, but with all sorts of nuts, its fantastic.
