Another winner from several new (to me) English ales that I have purchased recently. This is, simply put, good beer. Itís not Imperial anything, it does not have extra extra hops or malt, or funny flavorings - no, it is just a well made, good tasting beer. Sometimes thatís what this is all about. This is real tasty stuff!
Bottle. Slightly overcarbonated in mouth. Light malty raisiny smell. Full bodied with raisin and tangy finish and aftertaste. Tasty one koleminer20 (3463) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUN 18, 2017
500 mL bottle shared by ebone1988. The pour is a decently amber brown color with a thinner tan colored head and a little lace. There is a clarity about this one that Iím not too sure on. The aroma is full of metallic. Itís got a sweet maltiness and a heavy grain. Iím not feeling it. The metallic really just overpowers. The light earthiness helps, but itís not enough. The flavor is much of the same. Itís got a bitter metallic grain and malt. There is a hint of hop, but the bitterness stands true, I suppose. The mouth feel is lighter with a light and soft carbonation and a lingering bitter caramel metallic thing happening on the back end. Itís just not doing it for me. 6 3 6 3 12 ebone1988 (1848) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - JUN 18, 2017
Bottle from Merchants. Bottle shared with koleminer20, for the book. Feeling English today. Aroma is metallic, caramel malt, corn, earthy hops, dry, incredibly English. Appearance is brownish amber, light tan head, clear. Taste is bitter, caramel malt, metallic, earthy hops, malty, decent. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, bitter caramel earthy aftertaste. Overall, Iíve had better but itís pretty good. AndySnow (7545) - Huddinge, SWEDEN - JUN 13, 2017
