Dark brown 568ml (full English Pint) bottle. Best before 30th June 2008, drank a month earlier.
Poured into a Westmalle Chalice.
Jet black in colour, deep dark tan head, which sadly dispersed far to quickly for me.
Chocolate and liquorice aroma, both very strong.
The taste was also all about chocolate and liquorice.
Watery for such a dark beer, very little substance or body. It looks like a Porter/Stout but doesn’t have the robustness to carry it off. The label claimed it was a Premium Bitter, it wasn’t one of those either in my eyes.
An inbetween sort of beer, the brewer has produced an interesting product but failed to deliver something that really excited me.

(Bottle) Pours near black with red highlight. Light brown head. The aroma holds dark bread, chocolate/coffee roast, dark fudge, blackberries, bubble-gum and light floral hops. The flavour is light sweet, light to medium bitter and light acidic Tones of dark berries, dark fruits, dark bread and coffee. The mouthfeel is soft at first but has a tar and astringent finish. Malty ending. Medium bodied. Grzesiek79 (4314) - Radom, POLAND - JAN 26, 2012

5.0% almost black with a thin but creamy brown head, not much detectable aroma, roast, burnt, smoky flavour, drinkable but not to my taste. Joeh (2049) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 20, 2011
Rating from an old notebook. Bottle. Black. Not exactly your typical porter, this is a little drier, less sweet and a touch thin and has a certain smokiness to it. Better than I expected really. ElDesmadre (3627) - Mikołów, POLAND - JUL 19, 2011
Bottle. Aroma is mainly dark chocolate and only little less coffee, quite a heavy taste and oily consistency. Didn’t like it but I’ve got a feeling I should resample this on the next occasion. LoFi (1729) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2011
Bottle. Black with a creamy beige head. Chocolate, licorice, some roasted malts, some coffee. Medium-bodied, pretty smooth. Not bad, but from the name, you would expect a much heavier beer. goozen (4081) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 29, 2010
Bottle 0,55ltr: Black porter with an good taste of chocolate malts and great bitter finish.
