Almost clear (slightly cloudy) pale yellow in colour with ood white head. Heavy aroma of banana, overshadowing everything else. The taste is let down by an initial watery mouthfeel. Contains some banana, some hops, a bit of nuts and some citric flavour. The taste stays put for a while though.

I would call this an average hef at best. Its cloudy and yellow like it should be but there is just nothing interesting about it - in a word bland. The body is thin, the head is average but has no staying power, and the yeast dominates the aftertaste.

steview (1037) - Petaluma, California, USA - MAY 26, 2006
slightly hazy yellow-brown body, thick slightly tan head when poured vigorously; slightly sour, wet-dry aftertaste, who cares... a bit sour, yeasty, cheesy, orangey, boringy... most noted is the oranged flavored water-sugar!

On tap at Ølbaren. Hazy golden in colour with a medium white head. Sweet and a bit yeasty. Notes of banana and quite plane.

sunevdj (4074) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - APR 27, 2006
On tap. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Quite sweet with aromas of bananas and yeast. A bit more taste in this one compared to other Hefeweizens. Nice.

Draught. Cloudy orange appearance. Normal sized head. Some banana and yeast in this brew. After all a very ordinary and classic Hefe-Weizen.

Half-liter bottle, dated 16-01-02 That old? And I just got it at Sam’s Wines. Of course it was in the loose rack, so let’s see. Fills an entire weizen glass with foam. Light, hazy yellow shiws under the fizz. Weizen smell is rather light, mostly of banana and bubble gum. Taste is the same. If it is indeed 4-years old, the worst that’s happened is the style’s esters have intensified. But that’s at the expense of the malt and mouthfeel. Pretty nice, but not too spectacular.

Light and refreshing, nothing too surprising here. Hints of bannana are moderate to mild, with a nice creamy mouthfeel.

This is a really light hefeweizen. It is light in body and has that nice hef aroma, but the taste is a little sweet. Although it didn’t make a tremendous impression, it’s a good well-rounded beer.

frankenkitty (2008) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - FEB 28, 2006
Pours a well-hazed golden/wheat with a light volume of floaties and delicate carbonation topped by a large, white head that is creaminess defined. Aroma finds overripe banana yeastiness with English toffee behind and alcohol late. A smooth, creamy mouthfeel carries sweet malts to a sour, yeasty finish. Surprisingly, this actually got worse as it warmed... the palate thins and flattens while alcohol joins the sourness in an unremarkable way. So I’d advise to drink this while it still holds a chill.
