Bottle and served in a pilsener glass: Deep golden hue with a lasting frothy head and left very nice lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of grassy and herbal hops, vienna and pale malts, leafy, and some apple and pear esters. The taste is a tad sweeter (hint of honey) than the nose let on but hardly cloy. Some light handed hop bitterness adds balance. As Jordan just stated, there appears to a hint of rye bread towards the finish. The mouth feel is lively but mostly soft, dry finish and a touch chalky. Not too shabby and I bet it would even be better on tap. An easy way to start a Sunday.

Bottle: Pours a golden amber color with a very light head and nearly no lacing. The nose is slightly sweet and toasty with some light biscuit and plenty of caramelized sugars. The flavor is doughy with some rye bread and more sugars. A thinner body and a little more zest than the Winter Traum but generally the same beer. Odd. The finish is a touch roasty, some honey and grassy hops touch and go rather abruptly but that’s about all.

Pour is a clear amber with an average white head. Aroma is sweet but very faint malts. Flavor is is again pretty light with some caramel malts and nothing else. This is very weak and watery and not worth the time.

Bottle picked up at the Alpine Village store in Torrence, California. Pristinely clear in the glass, golden, thin white clingy head. Sweet cereal malt aroma. Predominantly sweet in flavor, not cloying but simple and boring. Medium bodied with a foamy feel that finishes thin.

botella 500 Ml. Personalmente me parece un poco fuerte y oscura para ser una viena, es mas bien una pilsen

This is a nice, interesting vienna that actually seems to be crossed with a pilsner. It is lighter/golden amber with a medium off-white head that is long lasting and leaves some fairly good, thin lace. The aroma is sweetish, mildly caramelly and leaf-like malt and dough with pine and herb hops and a hint of sulphur; very nice. The taste is similar, a little earthy, carmale malt body with lots of herbal, grassy hop flavour; tingly, with a light, persistent bitterness that just dominates the sweetish body. It is lighter than many viennas, but has a lot more hop character than usual, reminiascent of pilsners, with great balance between the elements. It is very drinkable.

Golden color; creamy head. Aroma of breadcrumbs and cereals. Simple flavor, with some malt, rather dry. Ordinary bitterness. Uninteresting.

Dark golden with a nice head and aroma with notes of malt and hops. The flavour is slightly sweet with notes of caramel, a moderate bitterness and a slightly dry finish. Well and that’s about it.... 1548

500ml bottle. Medium golden-orange color, filtered. Aroma is doughy and fresh. Very creamy and soft, with a mellow hop balance. I seem to detect a little amber malt. Very subtle quality beer.

On tap in the Klosterschenke 21 Jun 07. Dark brown coloured. A fluffy white head. Sweet fruity aroma with a soft sweet flavor. Roasted malty aftertaste with a sweet, fruity finish. A bit too carbonated.
