Darker golden coloured, medium sized white head that went away slowly, honeyish grainy nose with touch of cardboard. The taste is almost the same- malty, honeyish grainy and cardboardy with touch of caramel hops in the finish. Like Asam Bock expected better beer.

Pours a copper colour and a small white head. Aroma of sweet malts, light nuts and hay. Flavour of sweet and quite heavy malts, grains, nuts and light fruitiness. Low bitterness. Medium bodied, dryish mouthfeel and a malty, grainy and light bitter finish with light fruitiness. Nice Vienna with good drinkability.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2013 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot), with a light note of honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A touch on the sweet side, and the aroma is a bit docile, but I have to admit it’s quite delightful...if the nose were more assertive and the finish more snappy, this could be a 4+ brew. And maybe when it’s very fresh it is indeed at that level. Geokkjer (7627) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 28, 2009

On tap in the Klosterschenke 21 Jun 07. Dark brown coloured. A fluffy white head. Sweet fruity aroma with a soft sweet flavor. Roasted malty aftertaste with a sweet, fruity finish. A bit too carbonated. larsga (7542) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 28, 2007
Big offwhite lasting head. Light amber body with light carbonation. Light roasty caramel aroma, quite faint. Dry sweetish lightly roasted caramel taste with rubbery notes. Dry, watery, grainy aftertaste. A bit dry and harsh, and chalky. Not too impressive. (0.5l bottle.) Idiosynkrasie (7539) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - SEP 20, 2012
500ml bottle. Clear dark golden to amber colour with average, firm, frothy, white head. Grassy hop aroma with grainy notes, a toasty touch. Taste is initially slightly floral and grassy hoppy, pointing toward a metallic touch, some grainy notes, later a caramel malty basis with bread and toasty notes shines through. Could be characterised as bottom-fermented Bitter in a way. Sigmund (7537) - Tau, NORWAY - NOV 11, 2007
500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5. Deep golden colour, large head. Nice aroma for a golden lager: fruity and floral hops with moderate malts. The flavour is fairly malty and well rounded, some sweetness, balanced by moderate hops. Soft mouthfeel. A decent lager, well above average.
