no doubt about it, the malt is definitely there! nice looking deep copper color with a creamy head and great lacing. duff (5486) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 6, 2004
Bottle. Sweet pale malts, followed by a bitter dry finish (hops). Floral hops, tangerine and pear. Soft moutthfeel. Not one of Weltenburgers better beers, but still pretty decent. beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - JAN 4, 2005
Pours a darker amber with a fast falling off-white head that leaves thick lacing behind. This brew is very sweet and malty thick. Lots of warm melted caramel in the aroma along with a light spicing. Taste starts very warming and sweet malty and the very minimal carbonation leaves thick brew feeling very heavy and syrupy. Honey and caramel carry through the taste with just a light finishing bitterness that doesn’t even try to balance the big maltiness of this brew. Marko (6088) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - NOV 3, 2009

Dark golden body (how on earth is this a Vienna??), medium-big thick white head. Fine grainy, distinctly honeyish maltiness in the nose. A fine sweetish lager, fruity malty notes (light cardboard too?), honey again, ending with a light herbal hopiness that lends a light bitterness. Balanced and nice.
Appearance: Coppery gold to clear orange in color. Medium - sized, pillowy, fluffy white head on it.

Aroma: Pure, grainy malts, yeasty sourness, some papery notes. Not enough toasty, almost reminescent of a pale lager.
Flavor: Freshly mown hay, brown sugar, and toffee-like sweetness of sugary malts. Intense, acidic character of the yeast at the middle. Soft, grassy hop balanced with some toasted malty sweetness at the finish.
Mouthfeel/Palate: Light bodied, easy beer. Thin, watery texture with soft carbonation.
Overall Impression: Sweet grainy beer with definite sour yeasty character. The cardboardy off-flavor presence is out of my toleration level. This one is the less impressive from Weltenburg to me, so far.

Golden blonde colour, small white head, diminishing head. Aroma has some hops in it, flowerish also. Taste is slightly bitter than a pilsner, more tot full bodied also, some fizzling on thte tongue. A bit dry finish, Ok beer. MichaelAwesome (6545) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - AUG 14, 2012
0,5 l bottle shared with McTapps. A bit metallic in taste and a but watery for tgat kind of quality beer. Drinkable and nice but in no competition with its darker brother.
