Bottle. This pours a very dark brown with a nice layar of tanned head on top. Head leaves fairly quick, within two minutes or so. Very malty based aroma, earthy notes and a light, alcoholic smell to it as well. Flavour is spiced sweet, very full bodied, full of the earthy notes and even a bit of a roasty character, at least there is some burnt caramel and molasses in there. This is an awesome example of how a doppelbock should be in my honest opinion. Too bad I only brought one bottle..
50 cl Bottle. Deep reddish brown color. Dense, low beige foam. Mild aroma of caramel, dried fruit and sweet pipe tobacco. The flavor is characterized by an exquisite balance between roasted malt, discreet hops and sweet malt. Soft, warming. Delicate and powerful. Dry ending of hops and roasted malt. World class in its style. McSherman (690) - North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUL 28, 2017
Toll! artemb (1057) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - JUL 23, 2017

Pours a brown with a full and smooth tan head. The aroma is just a touch sweet. It contains heavy caramel, roasted malts, and bread, with complimentary impressions of licorice, raisin, molasses, and some hints of wheat. The taste is sweet, although it isn’t overwhelmingly sweet. The caramel flavor dominates, and the molasses is rather strong as well. Minor nuts, raisin, brown sugar, and a little bit of chocolate. Long caramel finish. Its medium in body, with a thick texture, and with average carbonation. This is a solid offering. ironcontra (332) - POLAND - JUN 18, 2017
Warming up to the DB’s. It more or less fits the canon descriptions, I’d agree w the previous guy that it’s just thinner than like Andechs or my (so far unfairly downrated) Salvator. Some carbo would be nice and a tad syrupy. But all the bread is nice, slightly more caramelized than others I’ve had, nuts, etc. Not bad JefVerstraete (3413) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - JUN 5, 2017
