Close to black beer with a foamy creamy head. Aroma is dark malty, chocolate, roasty and sweet. Medium body, smooth a bit sweet malty taste. Very balanced and good. Will get me another one.

Clear dark brown, red shades, strong beige head. Ruch malty nose with some prunes. Taste: malty sweetness and low to none spicy hoppy bitterness. Flavour: rich, malty, caramel, prunes, some toasted bread. Perfect.

En fyldig lettere spritet smag, men med sødme og en smule karamelsmag. Middel øl-

L: -pours a clear ruby-brown with a medium, foamy, beige head -medium to high carbonation visible S: -syrupy,coffee,malty,licorice,nutty,b bitterniss for the style F: -medium carbonation -light to medium body -slight alcohol noticeable O: Has some similarity to the Ayinger Celebrator, but it’s not quite as complex

Pours a brown with a full and smooth tan head. The aroma is just a touch sweet. It contains heavy caramel, roasted malts, and bread, with complimentary impressions of licorice, raisin, molasses, and some hints of wheat. The taste is sweet, although it isn’t overwhelmingly sweet. The caramel flavor dominates, and the molasses is rather strong as well. Minor nuts, raisin, brown sugar, and a little bit of chocolate. Long caramel finish. Its medium in body, with a thick texture, and with average carbonation. This is a solid offering.

Warming up to the DB’s. It more or less fits the canon descriptions, I’d agree w the previous guy that it’s just thinner than like Andechs or my (so far unfairly downrated) Salvator. Some carbo would be nice and a tad syrupy. But all the bread is nice, slightly more caramelized than others I’ve had, nuts, etc. Not bad

Tiefdunkel, schwarz im Glas mit sehr schwacher Krone. Röstmalziger Antrunk, Kaffeearomen gepaart mit Alknoten bis zum Abgang.

Pours beautiful copper with a thin beige head. Clear. Aroma is malty, a bit sweet and with some dried dark fruits. Taste.. oh, it is truly satisfying. Malty, fruity and sweet and bitter. Kind of like I want all bock style beers to be. Lots of balanced caramel flavours, some candy and heaps of caramel ice-cream. With dried plums as toppings. Kind of takes me back to medieval times as for some reason this is tasting as I would imagine beer to taste during the time of knights.
