Mortlach (2510) - Rome, - JAN 28, 2013
28/01/2013 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Deutsche Beer Festival. Ambrata carica, riflessi miele, limpida, schiuma biancastra normale, non molto persistente. Corpo medio, carbonazione normale. Appena sufficiente.

Clear brown color with minimal off-white head which disappears quickly. Aroma of sweet malts with bread, syrup and little roast. Taste is quite malty with bread. Finishes with light hops and sweet malts. Average carbonation. Overall very enjoyable dunkel

Bottle bought online from Beautiful Beers, BSE. Pours nut brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity, nutty. Taste is rich dark malts, raisins, hints of wood & smoke. Light to medium bodied, decent levels of carb. Sweet malty finish. A little dull for me

From tap in Klosterschänke, Bad Homburg, Germany. Pours dark brown with some head, aroma and flavor of roasted malts, well-balanced with a gentle bitter note. Goes extremely well with some savory German traditional food.

corkyrory66 (2195) - BELGIUM - AUG 23, 2017

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2017 Bevuta in abbazia.

Pours reddish dark brown, slightly clear with foamy off-white/beige head. Aroma: malts with notes of white bread, toffee, hint of caramel, coffee, dark fruits esters...flavor follows aroma: hint of roasted grain, white bread, toffee, hint of caramel, hint of coffee, dark fruit esters, especialy plums, prunes, floral, grassy, gentle citrusy hop profile. Slightly bitter, malty finish. Medium body, soft texture, medium carbonation.
