henrikb (1264) - Aarhus, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2006
Clear cobber colored body, big off-white head; Huge full super malty nose, a bit to the sweeter side very, very pleasant with some orange peel aromas; The body is a bit thin, but the very soft full carbonation gives a very nice impression; It finishes long with a thin texture and lots of full malty aromas. Another super well made German beer.

angelkostvo (1247) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 28, 2013
Copper color with 1 finger white head. Aroma of malt , toast. Taste is light sweet and quite drinkable. Light body, watery texture, soft to average carbonation. Not bad but I was expecting more.

Holdwine (1237) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 5, 2008
I was thinking soft and mellow for a Winter ale and then I see Vienna lager and it makes sense. Easy drinking, wet hay notes, Some sweetness. A wee bit watery, but an nice all around brew.

Cristobal37 (1231) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 20, 2015
Bronze with ample head, similar to a marzen. Caramel, toast, malts, sticky maple syrup. Similar to their barock dunkel. Actually Christmasy! Ginger bread and dunkel beer! Pretty cool, I like it.

BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - DEC 5, 2004
Bottle: Hazy copper color with an off white head. Aroma is molasses, tea, earth. Taste is tea, molasses, sweet grains, sour grains, light earth. Light body.

Piepenhenrich (1229) - Steinbach, GERMANY - SEP 8, 2017
A good beer, golden, focus on malty flavors. I, however, do agree with other raters, that this does not entirely coincide with my expectation to a winter beer. But there is no ultimate definition, anyway, right?

esox (1226) - Oulu, FINLAND - DEC 6, 2012
Pale amber colour, frothy/lacy head. Bready malt aroma with light herbal notes. Slightly toasted/bready finish. Sweetish taste, light bitterness in the finish. Medium body, smooth texture. Solid lager.

kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - MAR 19, 2009
Bottle. Rich bready malt with hints of spice. Copper amber with a modetrate noff white head. Creamy and laces rings down the glass. Flavor is sweet malts, quite bready with slightly spicy dry aftertaste. Full silky mouthfeel with a light lingerging bitterness.

Dermi (1196) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 15, 2012
50 cl, bottled. Pours orange with a white head. Aroma: Malt, grainy. Biscuits. Brown sugar. Taste: Above medium sweet, medium bitterness. Hints of acidity. Bread. Palate: Light body, noticeable carbonation. Easy to drink. Enjoyable.

mikkopen (1193) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 27, 2012
500 ml bottle. Clear deep amber colour, thin white head. Aroma of sweetish toasted malt, butter and grassy hops. The flavour is sweetish malty, with notes of nuts and a mildly grassy-hoppy finish.
