Archibaldo de la Cruz (1120) - FINLAND - NOV 27, 2012
Bottle. Deep amber color with a small white head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel and toffee. Flavor is sweet toasted malt, caramel and toffee. Medium body, mild bitterness in the finish.

thellgren (1058) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 21, 2017
0.5 l bottle from Alko Hakaniemi, Helsinki. Appearance is golden clear and nice head. Aroma has barley malts in a big way. Taste has them too. Like Czech beer. Triple conconction mashing anyone? Well, Ok, there is some less pale malts too. Not my idea of dark winter, this could be a summer beer.

crizay (1050) - Brook Park, Ohio, USA - JUN 26, 2007
Yes no winter beer this is in anyway. Pours clear amber with basically no head. Butterscotch flavor with caramel sweetness. Sweet crystal malts all the way with a touch of roasted malts in the aftertaste and some biscuit malts for crispness. Very oktoberfest like and would’ve been more suitable for that season.

Cthulhu (1035) - MARSHALL ISLANDS - NOV 12, 2016
50 cl bottle. Clear. Copper color. Small head.Caramel and honey aroma.Deep honey taste.Good malty presence.

ChillCoat (1029) - Concord, California, USA - NOV 2, 2005
Bottled. Pours a bit murky. Amber colored with a white head. Yeasty aroma with notes of cherries, malt and caramel. Flavor is malty with planty of dark fruit notes. Somewhat watery and the carbonation seems somewhat flat. Finishes sweet but clean.

urbnhautebourg (997) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - DEC 10, 2007
I noted some raw grain notes in this otherwise very soft, mild brew, which I think did a lot for its overall flavor. There is nothing which is done wrong here, and much that is right (the sweetness is welcome and never overstated). A good beer.

Rockinout (966) - Kent, Ohio, USA - JAN 10, 2006
Bottle. Translucent brown colored, faint caramel in the nose and taste with some fruit.

3.7
Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 28, 2011
Medium coppery gold pour, large white head. Smells midly fruity, bready, doughy, lots of floral hops but not dominated by them. Also tastes bready, doughy, toasty with some honey sweetness, has a very nice floral hops flavor that develops as it finishes with a little earthiness, finishes very clean and lightly bitter. A well-made beer that would be accessible to many.

dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - MAR 11, 2005
Bottled. Clear copper colour. Frothy, lacey, medium-sized head. Cookie malt aroma with what could be hints of cinnamon. Honeyish, slightly sweet taste with a cookie malt background. I really like the honeyish notes. I find it amazing how they put typical winter flavours into a beer, while staying with the reinheitsgebot. This is what German winterbeers should all be like. Thanks to joss for this late winter-season treat. Though this style fits the current weather better than the already avaiable maibocks.

MikeKeller (951) - Kemi, FINLAND - DEC 10, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 23, 2012 Bottle from Alko, Kemi. A bit uninspiring but nevertheless very good quality German vienna from the famous Weltenburger brewery.
