Cask at The Willow Walk as ’Weltons Headless Horseman’. Dark brown, red hue, small scummy tan head, light lacing. Aroma is raisin and dark bread. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is rhubarb, raisin, touch of raspberry, toasted teacake, a little dried apple. Papery dry finish with a touch of salt. Fruity yet dry. Very drinkable for a relatively high ABV. Plenty to like about this. johndoughty (5538) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2015
Bottle. Black with a small head. Dry, medium body with some maltiness. A pleasant but average beer. I thought it was more like a cstout than a strong ale. Mr_Pink_152 (5529) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2014

GBBF. Cask. Clear brown beer. Dry palate. Ok brown malts. Reasonable well balanced with some tangy fruits. Quite a bitter aftertaste. Ok.
Cask (handpump) at the Great British Beer Festival (day 3) on 4 August 2011. Very dark brown colour, almost black. No head to speak of. Distinctly fruity - dark berries, plums and maybe raisins. Also chocolate and moderately roasted malt, particularly on the palate. Some, slightly burnt, bitterness. Very tasty, if difficult to categorise. I tend to find Weltons beers a bit hit and miss but this one was a definite hit.
