Bottle from the old indoor market in Derby. Not bottle conditioned. Bit fizzy. Pale brown incolour. Quite quaffable for the 6.2% strength, mind you I had just finished a bit of a tough day at work, so that helped it slid down nicely.
On tap at the Struglers, Lincoln. Amber colour with an off white head. Pithy orange caramel aroma. Taste starts sweet with a long bitter finish. Warming body. niquillis (2752) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 6, 2013
On cask at Boathouse, Wylam. Pours amber with white head. Some alcohol sour, hint of caramel, hop finish. Drinks lighter than ABV. Decent. ralphdot (1094) - Billingham, Durham, ENGLAND - APR 11, 2013
6.2% cloudy pale amber colour with a poor head, malt aroma, fruity caramel taste, very nice. jamesie1857 (2151) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 3, 2012
500ml bottle conditioned - a deep amber colour, thin white head, a bit fizzy. Nice caramel nose, similar taste, The fizz gives a refreshing edge to an old ale taste. Not the best, but not bad. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 28, 2012

Light haze on this gold - amber beer. No real head. Light dry malt with a whisper of spice. Softish dry finish, trace of banana. Mild hop aftertaste. Okay.
Clear gold with a thin white lacy head. Oily. Smells of malt, roast spice and alcohol. Frothy oily medium body. Strong taste of alcohol. sweet malt and straw and a dry hay finish. Stong hops with huge grass alcohol finish. Its not very good and overly alcoholic.

I think I can best sum this up by suggesting a basic Belgian strong ale. 500 ml bottle served in a trappist glass cellar cool. Clear golden colour, not much head, little hop flavour, but a fairly pleasant malt, alcohol and mild spice flavour. Notworld beating, but well wort the £1 I paid. tommann (3754) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUN 27, 2010
500ml bottle. Pours an off-golden colour with no head. Barely any carbonation. Aroma is of alcohol and resin. Taste is of apples and some sourness. Light body and watery, probably due to a lack of carbonation. Some bitter in the finish. Hides its alcohol. Could be a good beer. johndoughty (5452) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2010
Bottle. Orange with a small head.Low carbonation and fairly lifeless. Bitter with some hops. To be honest I expected better. imdownthepub (14557) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2010
Bottle conditioned, 500ml from B&M, Southport. Cloudy orange gold with no head. Sweet, bready, yeasty with bottling issues, some apple tartness and a rawish malt note. Few hop notes.
