COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Belle de Boskoop, green-russetted with a red flush, originated in the Netherlands. Like the Ashmead’s Kernel and the Esopus Spitzenberg, it gives tart sweetness. Mid-dry.

Bottle from Astor Wines.
Wine glass. Clear, pale gold color. Not quite still.
Smells makes me anticipate some very bitter apples. Yeast, green grape acid, peel.
Taste is nicely tart. Juicy & faintly salty. Cutting. Sort of something like a Granny Smith, but with more of a crabby edge to it. Subtle, inviting sweetness, turning nicely bitter.
Light to moderately carbed. Strong acid. Thin.
Simple & approachable, without having to lean too far into six pack territory. Very sloshable. :)
