COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg; Regular.
In the style of a Bavarian wheat beer, our Hefeweizen is an authentic blend of wheat and barley malt, hopped carefully and left naturally unfiltered with a clean aroma of banana and clove and a satisfying zing on the palette, topped with crisp, white foam.

Opaque soupy blonde with white lacing. Quite vegetal nose with spicey clove in behind. Full bodied, spicey, fruity, a touch of pepper. Slightly sharp long clovey finish

Maker: West Brewery, Glasgow, Scotland *** Beer: West Hefeweizen (cask, at The Standing Order, Edinburgh) *** Style: Hefeweizen (clo6udy wheat) ***i ALC.VOL.: 5.2% *** "In the style of a Bavarian wheat beer, our Hefeweizen is an authentic blend of wheat and barley malt, hopped carefully and left naturally unfiltered with a clean aroma of banana and clove and a satisfying zing on the palette, topped with crisp, white foam." (Brewery notes) *** Colour: Hazy yellow, small (!) off-white head. *** Nose: Mild lemon, clove, yeast. *** Texture: Medium body, watery, moderate carbonation. *** Taste: Banana, mild citrus, some spices. Not a lot but yeast and banana in the middle, yeast in the finish. Hardly any aftertaste. *** Impressions: Characteristic but not especially memorable German style hefeweisse. A difficult style to create something really unique in, admittedly. This is refreshing, mildly fruity, sessionable.

On tap at the brewpub. Muddy yellow coloured, small creamy white head, fruity wheaty nose. Wheaty, light yeasty and citrusy with strong banana (slightly overriped) presence. Dry fruity finish. Glad to had German Hefe in Scotland.
