Bottle from Pisces Restaurant, Castlegregory. Dark dark ruby pour with a beige head and legs. Medium carbonation. Malty, hoppy bitterness, caramel, raisin. Starts off sweet, finishing bitter. Aromas of dark fruit, hops, toffee and strong malty aromas. Nice beer from a beautiful part of the world.

Dark copper..clear.. bubbly thick white head... reasonable lacing
Aroma of soft caramel malts...light toffee...quite a bit of peat smoke
Taste - caramel malts..smoky...bit of bacon..some sweet dark malts...light bitter hops..peaty smoke...like Laphroaig..a little too much
Palate - soft carb.....thin to medium body. Finish of soft malt...light peaty smoke
Overall - Interesting brown beer with a bit of peaty smoke in the flavour
Naturally carbonated in the cask (real ale style) with a very nice head. Clear and dark ruby red. High in hop flavors. Some subtle roast notes from the malt as well.
