Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Tom L. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, overripe fruits, some smokiness, and a bit of minerals. Sweetish flavor with caramel, some smokiness, and some overripe fruitiness. Medium-bodied.

Erzengel (10257) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - APR 25, 2014
The beer starts malty-dry. Hints of roast. The mainpart is dry-fruity (cherries, plums), nicely bitter and a bit dusty-dry. Cereals but not pushy. Interesting combination, a bit "red", smooth. Hints of dry caramel, slightly bitter till the end.
Very interesting, a bit like a "special grain" brew. Nice! --> 12/12/12/12

Beersiveknown (5327) - NORTHERN IRELAND - MAR 20, 2013
Dark chestnut brown with cream head that soon collapses. Fruity sweet butterscotch nose. Diacetyl and caramalt sickliness held at bay by astringent dark malt chocolate and roast. Makes a change to usual Irish reds.

culchiem (4389) - Berlin, GERMANY - DEC 25, 2012
Bottle. Ruby brown with a thin head. Aroma is light peat. Flavour is smoky malt, dry, peat in the finish.

northropfrye (3791) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 15, 2013
Cask at brewpub on Dingle peninsula. A phenomenal beer - the best I’ve tried in Ireland. Dark brown, a touch reddish colour, off white head. Slightly sweet robust malty aroma. Taste is a fabulous roasted malt with a nice tartness to it as well, smokiness and a touch of hops. Lots of flavour. Very enjoyable.
