Bottle... RBWG 2013… This beer rocks!… Hazy light-yellow ale with a huge, fluffy, white head. Decent retention. The bouquet furnishes big-time applewood-smoked meat, light funkiness, mild breadiness and nice acidity. Light bodied and a hint abrasive with fizzy carbonation. The flavor provides loads of crystal clean, citrusy tartness flanked by a lesser feature of smoked meat. Short, crisp, Mojave-dry finish. Crazy drinkable and insanely unique. I can see this being a love-hate type of brew, but in my case… More Please! Thanks go out to ygtbsm94 for generously providing this bottle of world class beer! Rbittke dueing the hotel lobby session. pours moatly clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Big tangy nose, some smoke. Light sweet flavor, lots of smoke, some citric tang. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lots of tang to finish, smoke, pale malts. Damn interesting and tasty. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 3, 2013
750mL thanks to Travlr. Pours a full haze, glowing white peach. Fizzing out white foam. Awesome smoked meat plus funky peach nose. No acetic. Really nice. Actually the nose is not unlike some of the smoky/funky Normandy ciders. Taste is very light, clean, lightly spicy, delicate white peach juice. Really good stuff. burg326 (5607) - Florida, USA - MAR 15, 2013
750ml bottle poured a light cloudy golden yellow color with aromas of peat, smoked wheat, light lemon, and some tart wheat. Flavors were light smome up front followed by some light tart wheat and lemon. Another solid beer from these guys, so much better than the original one.

Thanks to travlr! This is a legit beer. Hints of vinous, barrel yogurt tang, some beautiful brett funk, and light lemon citrus bite. Touches of rye and campfire. I like this one a lot. jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 10, 2013
Bottle. Pours semi-cloudy yellow gold. No head. Nose and taste of smoked meat, banana yogurt, tart lemon, oaky light funk and citrus peel. Slightly vinous. Not much. Taste has initial tart acidicness followed by heavy smoked bacon. Body on the lighter side of medium - appropriate for the style and ABV. Huhzubendah (3753) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 12, 2013
Served in my new Westbrook glassware. Thank you Brad!
The beer is hazy and straw yellow with over an inch of white head after an aggressive pour. The head hisses and disappears completely within seconds. The aroma brings campfire smoke, a la German rauchbiers. Tart lemons, juice, grass. The wine barrel certainly adds presence to the aroma, but this aspect of the beer shines more in the flavor. So many interesting things happening here. It’s quite a feat to marry these bold and complex characteristics and have everything cooperate this well. An unusual take on a Berliner. I applaud Westbrook for making the most interesting beer (that actually tastes good) that I’ve had in quite some time. NachlamSie (3568) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 4, 2014
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2014 Pint 9.4 oz bottle from September 2012. Shared with friends. Pours hazy yellow with no head. Aroma is tart and rich with muscadines and hay. The body is fizzy. Very interesting and complex flavor. The smoke is assertive and works here. Good level of sourness and the red wine notes bring everything together. Sharp muscadine wine, cider vinegar, lemons, smoke come together. Good meaty and sour finish. djd07 (15544) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 9, 2015
Bottle during RBWG Lobby Share. Pours a cloudy yellow with small white head. The aroma is strong smoke, pepper, and funk. Thin mouthfeel, light smoke, tart lemon, really enjoyed this one.
