COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our favorite double IPA’s are all about citrus flavors, so with our Westbrook collaboration we wanted to pack as much grapefruity. hoppy goodness in there as possible to further bolster the hop profile. The addition of fresh grapefruit zest took the labor intensiveness of this beer another level but we think it was worth it and hope you do too! Cheers! Scott, Rich, and the Westbrook Crew

650 ml bottle from Portale Birra, served in a pint glass. Bottled on 02-09-2013. Dark sunrise orange, pretty hazy, with a nice, fluffy, persistent and forever lasting yellow-ish head. Great lacing. Dank and tropical aroma, citric and pungent, not exactly fresh but that’s expected. Some light notes of caramel malts, brown sugar and pine needles. Slightly herbal and resiny taste, sticky and still quite hoppy. Pretty well balanced between a slightly astringent bitterness, and a caramel / mou candy sweetness. Some mild alchool presence, but almost imperceptible. Average carbonation, on the higher side of medium body, creamy texture. For a 6 months old bottle, it’s pretty much glorious.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours tiny hazy golden with a frothy and fluffy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some sticky lacing on the glass. Smell is malty and fruity with sweet white bread, crackers, alcohol, grapefruit juice, overripe tropical fruits, moist grass, pine needles, resinous wood and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and fruity with sweet bread, crackers, moist grass, overripe tropical fruits, grapefruit juice, alcohol, orange zest, lemon zest and hints of honey. Mouthfeel is round, slightly astringent, tiny syrupy, tiny boozy and medium bodied. finish is sweet, bitter and fruity with white bread, crackers, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, orange zest, alcohol, unripe tropical fruits, alcohol and hints of golden syrup. Old but holds up ok…

Keg at Cask Pub & Kitchen. 2013 I assume…Golden orange, pretty still, small white head. Aroma - earthy, spicy hops, orange. Body is medium, a bit of fizz around the mouth. Taste is caramel malts, rosewater, grapefruit, watered down pithy tangerine, earth, spice. Drying resin finish. Nice, but taste is a bit thin for the style.

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body. Oily caramelly citrus aroma with nutty toffee notes. Dry-sweet, and somewhat astringent, sugary toffee grapefruit taste with wooden tropical fruit notes. Full-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish orangey biscuity toffee aftertaste with resiny grapefruit notes. Lovely. Highly drinkable, yet full of flavour. (0.65l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Orange hazy, creamy white head. Smells of citrus, zests, spices and malts. Medium sweet, quite juicy, fruity citrus and xests, tropical flavors as well. Heavy bitter finish, resins and zests. Fantastic double IPA, nice fruit additions

Lightly malt sweetness in both aroma & taste. The alleged citrus & grapefruit is disappointing very hidden. It’s clear yellow with long lasting white head. Full bodied with smooth texture & low carbonation.

ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 1, 2014
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a hazy orange body with a medium creamy white head. Nose is pine, peaches, wet grass and hints of grapefruit, caramel and orange peel. Taste is pine, peaches, caramel, bitter leafy herbs, citrus zest, grapefruit and hints of blood oranges, pine and straw. Full body, medium carbonation with a bitter, grassy finish that lingers into the aftertaste. Very fruity, citrusy and much less "pine-caramel"-oriented than most American DIPAs. Pretty nice.
