Pours black with creamy head, aroma is sweet caramel with a herbal notes. Roasted malt with caramel and chocolate notes, a slight bitterness is also present. McNeillR (2315) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 19, 2013
Solid black body with bubble beige ring head. Fresh compost nose with fig sweet highlights. Despite a decent undercurrent of carbonation this is a sooth a sipping Schwarz as I’ve enjoyed. Initial wrap of molasses and cream with the softest coffee. An initially shy roast shimmys onto the palate. Subtle and grainy at first, but thick leathery bitter whips on the finish. Carbonation leaves a mild dryness more picnic table wood than anything too offensive. Valgreen (768) - DENMARK - FEB 22, 2014

Bottle. Pours dark Brown. I’m a wee bit surprised by this one. Obviously the reference to Space Balls is excellent but I paid a lot of money for this bottle and it was a pretty underwhelming experience. I could have bought about 5 equally tasty Czech Tmavys for the same price. I’m surprised that Ratebeer backs up it’s lofty price with an impressive score. I might be being a bit unfair. It was after all, very nice but I’m awash with Tmavy’s here and this one is comparbale and by no mean spectacular. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 20, 2014

Near black body, appearing mahogany at the edges. Small tan collar that leaves a touch of lacing in its wake. Aromas of chocolate, char, smoke - though not on the level of a rauchbier. Dark toast, a hint of dark fruit. Lager yeast and rye bread come in mid to late palate. Solid. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2015

2016-02-26. Black body nice foamy tan head. 3++ Aroma is dry, dusty malt has a bit of cocoa like chocolate. Flavour is moderately bitter, dusty dry malt muted cocoa. Average bodied palate, soft effervescent carbonation. 3+ Okay, a bit milder than expected overall. 7/4/7/3/14-15 Bottle shared by Blankboy.
