COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Happy birthday to us! To celebrate our first year as a brewery we brewed a serious imperial stout and aged it on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks, and fresh habanero peppers. This is the first offering in our annual Anniversary series. Here’s to many more!

growler. Black ink w/ brown head. Smells like malty warmth, maybe some peppers. It’s a tasty yet undefined mix of chocolate vanilla coffee flavored w/ cinnamon and mild peppers. The pepper heat doesn’t really build, esp. for habs. Thanks Westbrook for the fun first year!

650ml bottle (thx, Chris S.!) shared with George on Greenpoint campground. Almost black with a dark brown head. Aroma is dark fruits and cinnamon. Taste is sweet with lots of cinnamon and some chocolate notes. Sweet, roasted malt, spicy aftertaste. Good stuff.

On tap at Draught. Pours a deep black with a thin tan head. Big cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, cocoa. Medium bodied, roast, chocolate, cocoa. Big cinnamon, a bit of ashy roast. Slow roast, chocolate, vanilla, loads of cinnamon. Very faint heat, but I’m looking for it pretty intently.

Nose and taste of Cinnamon anise vanilla along with more standard stout-y roasted notes. Palate is a bit thin for the IS style, but this is a great beer.

Spiced, strong notes of cocoa, vanilla, black with a good brown head, medium/full body, pleasant carbonation, again strong notes of cocoa, good spiced final with an exremely balanced warming sensation...this beer is quite perfect, awesome!

Mexican Cake is the most amazing Imperial Stout to ever touch my lips. My personal favorite was 2015 as it was like drinking velvet. Westbrook has made succeeded in making one of the most coveted beers for those in the know. Luckily I lived in the Charleston area for a number of years and was able to taste it each year. I drove back a few weeks ago solely to buy this beer.

Spitzenklasse!

Sweet chocolate, coconut hints of vanilla and liquorice. Small notes of roastiness. Some bitterness to balance the sweetness and it is enough.

Looks good with its creamy head. Aroma and flavour are very spicy. Light cinnamon and pepper. Very light bodied.
