Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coconut, wine - red wine, vanilla, dark fruity - light spicy - cinnamon - chili. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, coconut, chocolate, sweet malt, dark malt, dark dried fruits, vinous, wood, alcohol. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

The Last Tasting at Bruce’s palatial pad. Opaque dark black - brown beer with a good darkish tan head. Palate is smooth and light and a little airy. Good creamy dark malt with a nice touch of smooth dark chocolate. Melloe red wine tang and fruits. A light touch of coconut (nowhere near as much as the JD BA). Nice red berries on the finish. The chilli dominates more here and slightly outmuscles the red wine. Otherwise very good indeed.

Bottle at Bruce’s in London - big thanks to Sr. Paulo. Pours thick and heavy with a large, lasting macchiato cap. The aroma has dark chocolate, dark berries, touches of coconut. Medium sweet flavor with slight pepper sting, a bit of dry wood, milky chocolate, oaky red wine barrel, raspberry. Medium to full bodied with massaging carbonation. Warming finish of both pepper and heat, slight black pepper, a bit of dry wood, light tannic character, oak, dried berries. Excellent.

Pitch black with a thin dirty tan head that clears to a swirl atop the glass.
Nose is roast malts, sugars, chocolate cake mix, boozey tones, light wood, red grapes.
Taste comprises rich chocolate, light chilli kick in a very subtle way, dark toffee, peppery tones, dark toffee fudge, light spice.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, rich woody spruceness in the finale.
