Black, dark brown head. Nose is spices, cinammon, chocolate, wine. Taste is incredibly well blended chocolate, cinammon, dark fruits, vinous barrel notes. Full, sticky body. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - JAN 26, 2014
Wow ! Pours a rich deep burnt umber color with a finger of khaki foam. The nose is big and beautiful with great vinous fruit, fudgy chocolate cake, cinnamon, coconut and vanilla bean. The palate follows the nose but teh coconut presence is unreal. Beautiful round coconut layered chocolate, integrated cinnamon and chili spice... trace of vinous acidity on the back end of the smooth coconut notes. This beer is unbelievable... Appearance: Opaque black with a short lasting dark brown head.
Aroma: Intense, dominating cocoa powder aroma
Taste: Cherries, chocolate, cinnamon
Palate: Huge, chewy, mouthfeel. Pepper (and perhaps some alcohol) heat comes in toward the end and lingers through finish. Slightly dry finish
Overall: OMFG... there is no beer that I’ve ever had that can be compared to this. Very sweet, raspberry chocolate cream egg in a bottle. The Cab presents itself unlike any other wine barrel aged beers I’ve had... no mustiness, just a completely new flavor when combined with the chocolate.

Big bold black pour, brown head. Damn this was my favorite of the 3 BA versions. Chili, chocolate, perfect amounts of vinous notes, grapes, vanilla, woody flavors. Smooth and balanced. This is a beauty.

Pours dark unclear with a huge dark bright caramel head. Aroma brings cinnamon, fruit cake, and a boat load of coconut with some vanilla. Flavor brings big roasted chocolate and coffee malts with undertones of some juicy Cabernet grapes and vanilla oak. The body is just the right thickness and you get some vanilla and coconut at the end. egajdzis (6673) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 11, 2013
Opaque black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of cocoa, gingerbread, roasted malts, cinnamon, coconut, vanilla wood, chiles, and alcohol. Taste of roasted malts, smoke, char, dark fruits, spicy cinnamon, vanilla, cabernet, a little spicy, with some alcohol as well. hopdog (12816) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 11, 2013
22oz bottle. Poured a black color with an off white head. Wow, what a unique smelling and tasting beer all the way around. Chocolate, roast, vanilla, vinous, oak, rum cake, dark fruits, and spices. kraddel (8615) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - FEB 20, 2014
Bottle thnx to Bobochamp !
Pours pure black .
No foam .
Smell is woody, some peppers , but very light .
Taste is peppery, Bordeaux barrels . It clashes a bit , doesn’t combine like other varieties, yet still is rediculously yummie , Peppers, sweet, tannines, oak , quite hot , actually . Very nice indeed . Mkes me wanna redrink the regular, non BA version, cause i don’t remember it as that pecial, but all 3 of the BA editions are extremely good ! 22 ounce bottle poured into a mini snifter. Pours a thick, motor oil black with a khaki colored head of foam. The aroma has peppers, chocolate, wine, and vanilla beans. Tastes like a wine soaked chocolate cake. Fairly sweet, but there is a tingle of heat on the back of the throat. Thick mouthfeel with a low to medium carbonation. There’s a little bit of pepper burn on my lips after several sips.
