Bottle shared. Near black with a ring tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, weird floral notes, fruity chilli notes, oak and bourbon. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
Big let down on this one. Some chocolate was in the nose for sure. Taste had a metallic finish to it. This barrel didn’t do the beer a justice. charule (2304) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 30, 2017
Bottle shared with friends at WB. Poured black with decent tan head. Aroma soapy bourbon choc syrup. Light carb med bod. Tastes light bitter choc semisweet choc light bourbon. Homer321 (5255) - Melboring, Florida, USA - FEB 24, 2017
Bottle at the brewery. #cred. #homer. Nose is is super chocolate and bourbon. Notes of dark chocolate and cocoa nibs rise up from the aroma. Wowe. Taste. Wowe. Luscious dark chocolate but never bitter. Decadent. Modest bourbon. Light warming in the finish from the pepper. Faint vanilla. Overall the chocolate is really prominent but doesn’t overwhelm too much. The spice seems to be a little light compared to the regular cake but it’s still there. The bourbon is light but adds a light vanilla note. Very nice.

Taste is dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, coconut, bourbon. Surprisingly low, if any, chilli, it’s replaced by the bourbon. The dark chocolate is slowly overtaking the aftertaste.
