COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Happy birthday to us! To celebrate our first year as a brewery we brewed a serious imperial stout and aged it on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks, and fresh habanero peppers. This is the first offering in our annual Anniversary series. Here’s to many more!

Tap @ Koht, Tallinn. Pours pitch black, not very carbonated, looking relatively tame, albeit oily around the edges. Nose has some liquid cocoa, chilli chocolate, smoked habanero. Taste has some sweet thick cocoa and milk chocolate at first, then chillies start coming through, spicy tingle and nice smoked habanero heat. Finish keeps that chilli glow going, throat has more of that heat, feels pretty substantial. If I tried to drink this fast, that chilli would force me into rejection mode. Slowly sipping, its totally enjoyable though. Oily body, hot habanero aftertaste. Spicy tingle in the back of my throat. Can totally understand why people like this, I like it too.

Tap at Koht. Pitch black colour, almost no head. Aroma of cherries, green pepper, milky chocolate, cocoa. Taste is roasty, bittersweet, chilli spicy, chocolatey, milky, some vanilla, hints of cinnamon. Hops in finish. Full body, bit below average carbo. Not perfectly, but well hidden alcohol, some hints behind chilly spiciness. Well balanced and tasty stout. Imp stout suits perfectly with peppers and here's one of the best samples of that match.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2017 Opaque dark brown/black beer with slight yeast and with a slight/medium dark brown head. Medium aroma that smells like a regular Imperial Stout to be honest. All the added ingredients shine through in the taste however and it is glorious. Loads of vanilla, chocolate, spices and peppers. Superbly thick and creamy palate as well.

Kolor: czarny, zupełnie nieprzejrzysty.

Piana: średnio obfita, drobno pęcherzykowa, dość trwała.

Zapach: wyraźne aromaty, kakao, cynamony, papryczek, trochę palonych słodów, lekkie akcenty dymne, fenolowe.

Smak: wyraźna pełnia, słodycz, lekka gęstość, oleistość, wyraźna pikantność, ale nie jakaś mocna, nuty palonych słodów, kawy, z dodatków kakao, trochę cynamonu i wanilii, średnia goryczka, lekko podbijana przez chilli.

Wysycenie: średnie.

660ml bottle. Pours pitch black. Thin beige line of froth around the glass. Spices, cardemom, vanilla, notes of chilli, hints of cocoa in the aroma. Cardemom, spices, chilli, vanilla, notes of caramel, slight sweetness, cocoa in the taste. Chilli, vanilla in the aftertaste. Really nice balance between the chilli and other characteristics of the taste. Really tasty combination of different spices. Rather heavy bodied, moderately carbonated, beautiful beer. Worth of being a iconical brew.

Bottle from boxbeers.dk. Pours really dark and thick with an really small beige to brown head. Aroma has dark chocolate, cacao nibs, dark roast, sweet grainy malts. Heavy sweet. Full bodied. Flavour is really intense with sweet chocolate, spices, zesty citrus fruits, chili habanero in finish, lasting! soft carbonation. Really rich and lots of taste in here. LOVE IT!

bierkoning (13743) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - OCT 13, 2017
Bottle, black. Malt, chocolate, cacao and a hint of pepper in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty sweet flavor with chocolate, cacao. Just bearable units of red pepper. Herbal. Alcoholic. A pepper burn in the finish. Is brewing this beer really necessary?
