COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Happy birthday to us! To celebrate our first year as a brewery we brewed a serious imperial stout and aged it on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks, and fresh habanero peppers. This is the first offering in our annual Anniversary series. Here’s to many more!

Werckmeister (3126) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - JAN 28, 2017
0,66l bottle at Linz Tasting shared by me. Botted 05/08/2015. black Color, small coffee Colored head. smells cinnamon, chocolate, bit peppery, chlorophyl, cookies, very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes cinnamon, chocolate, spices, peppery, light sweetness, coffee, peppery. finishes rather strong on the peppers with notes of cinnamon, spices and some chocolate. quite good one, but also rather too strong on the chili side, lovely cinnamon though, but well, the chilis overlay everything. like the cinnamon.

Pours dark brown to black with zero head. No lacing. Aromas of raw cocoa beans, vanilla, cinnamon, some smoked wood and rum. Very balanced flavours of bittersweet roasted malts, cocoa beans, coke leaves, roasted coffee and discreet hints of smoked wood. The spiciness of the chilies is mild and noticeable only towards the back end. Sweet, warming finish with a a boozy kick. Viscous and full bodied, low carbonation levels. Overall an amazing, well-rounded and petfectly balanced imperial stout which avoids burnt and ashy characters. I’m not a fan of spiced imperial stouts, but this is a great example of this sub-style.

Bottle at himmeriget, Copenhagen. Pours pitch black with a small mocca head. Aroma is dark chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate ice cream. Taste is sweet and bitter in a really balanced way - chocolatey and desert like. The end has some heat from the habanero. Nice full-bodied mouthfeel.

Shared bomber at Samm’s. Hazy dark black pour wit tan head. Nose was roasty dark malt, pepper, cacao, vanilla. Tasted like a peppery mole sauce with vanilla notes and cinnamon. Smooth and understatedly heated, like your mother.

neongolden (1611) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 27, 2016
(650ml 2016 bottle from boxbeers.dk shared) Pours black with a small dark tan head that fades to a ring with lace. Aroma is quite cinnamon-forward, especially before it breathed a bit, with rich dark malts, dark stewed fruit, light chocolate, somewhat green and spicy habanero, vanilla, rather sweet with moderating bitter/spicy notes. Flavour is dark chocolate and deep, well-balanced roasted malts, spicebox with cinnamon less obvious, vanilla, lightly nutty, with a chili heat that builds a bit into the finish along with a recapitulation of the spices. Semi-sweet at max, with a balanced roast and spice character that leads to a dusty dry aftertaste, not a dessert sugarbomb. Medium-full body, velvety, light carbonation. Nice brew, it’s quite well-balanced and lets all the additions work in harmony. The only variant I’ve had did kick it up a notch over the base, but this is good stuff.

Gramoit (490) - Surrey, ENGLAND - DEC 25, 2016
Beautiful nose, choc, spices (cinnamon) with a very slight chilli finish. What is great about this beer is all the flavours even so subtle work beautifully together. Had it at about 8C but after 30 minutes more of the flavours became more apparent, Absolutely top class.

At home. Bottle shared courtesy of Mrk’s beershopping budget. Big roasted choco malts, roasted peppers, cinnamon, coconut, marzipan. Big sweet, mild bitter. Full body, soft carbonation. Nice soft velvety and powdery feel. Very nice blend of spices. Mexican christmas in a bottle. Very nice. I want this. Double barrel huna without the subwoofer.
