Bomber to taster (shared with Dogbones, LitoIPA, the Mrs., and others). Looks good; an opaque dull black with foamy tan head. Smells great! Dark malt, chocolate, oak, bourbon, and a bit of spice. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel that’s a little hot, but likely from the pepper. Fantabulous!!! burg326 (5607) - Florida, USA - MAY 7, 2014
Poured dark black from the bottle with aromas of chocolate, earth, light spicy pepper, some roast and light bourbon. Flavors follow suit chocolate, light pepper some bourbon and booze, a solid imperial stout that I could enjoy all day. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2014
This one poured an inky black color with a beige head. roma was of whiskey, fudge, light sapices and coffee. Flavor was spices, whiskey, and fudge, melded together very well. was not a huge fan of the base beer, but this one is great. Art (3220) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 28, 2014

UPDATED: APR 14, 2014 This beer has officially grown on me. I recapped the 1/3 of the bottle that was left and opened it this morning and it’s actually really fucking complex, sweet and cinnamony and vanilla and cocoa. It really captures the spirit of "mexican chocolate cake" in a way I didn’t appreciate last night, maybe because of some of the other beers I had around it, maybe because I wasn’t in the mood, who knows, but I admit I was wrong. knickskicks (1168) - - MAR 17, 2014
Black pour, dark brown head. Nose is huge chocolate, bourbon, spices. Taste is a chocolate bomb, smooth bourbon, spices, some vanilla. Full mouthfeel. KingCecil (2088) - DENMARK - MAR 8, 2014

12/II/14 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle as "Bourbon barrel" @ De Hopduvel (Gent) - bottled: 6/VI/13 or VI/6/13 (2014-185) Thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark brown beer, no head, just a few bubbles floating atop the beer. Aroma: oh my, the vanilla is big on this one! But other stuff as well, bourbon, alcohol, caramel, fudge, brownie, lots of dried fruits, dark chocolate, ginger bread (actually more like "peperkoek" for the Dutchies) probably because of the cinnamon, but it’s more spicy and complex than just cinnamon. MF: nice soft carbon, full body. Taste: immediate hot burn from the peppers on the tongue, lots of peperkoek (ginger bread), pretty sweet and malty, molasses, chocolate (both milk and dark), vanilla, spices. Aftertaste: more ginger bread ("couque de Dinant"), cinnamon, spices, hot pepper, chocolate, some mocha, caramel. Holy bimbam, this is good stuff!!!
