Bottle shared by Tom. Nose is huge in cinnamon and coffee. Lot of fudge. The spicing seems significantly lower than regular Mexican cake which is weird as I like the heat. Light vanilla and light mouthfeel. I don’t think this is as good as regular cake. Huhzubendah (3709) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 3, 2016
Near black body with a small, beige collar. Coffee dominates the aroma. While the scent is certainly pleasant and alluring, I feel that the more subtle aspects of what Mexican Cake has to offer are buried under the dominant coffee character. This holds true for the flavor profile as well. Still, a tasty beverage, though I prefer the standard version. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 24, 2016
(22oz bomber) viscous near black beer with deep tan head. Nose of cinnamon, chilies, rich coffee, and chocolate syrup. Taste of light chilies, medium coffee, rich and lightly roasty, dark Chocolate, viscous with a chocolaty palate finish that’s only slightly hot from chile heat. djd07 (15067) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 18, 2015
Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a dark brown with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, dark chocolate, wood, vanilla. Thick mouth, chewy, similar flavors to nose, bitter finish, nice booze, very nice. robbiemoy13 (12) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 21, 2015
Coffee adds great flavor and aroma to the base beer. A little thin, but tastes great.

2015 bomber with gold/beige/yellowish wax. Thanks to HOPSareKEY for sharing. The adjuncts are really popping on this one. Coffee, cinnamon, chilli, vanilla, chocolate, fudge brownies. A full on flavor assault that’s blended perfectly. More flavor in one sip than some breweries can offer in their entire lineup. This is the best in the cake lineup. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUL 17, 2015
draft at Torst, NYC. black pour, medium to fuller bodied. chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, light vanilla, cinnamon/allspice, pepper heat. coffee is pretty dominant, chocolate & heat adds nice twist. solid jcartamdg (3470) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 3, 2015
Pours jet black, like motor oil. Aroma of coffee, taste of coffee. That’s all there is, loads of good coffee flavor. The rough thing about this is knowing the base beer. This is a solid coffee impy stout but it completely destroyed the base. 50belair (3656) - Florida, USA - JUN 30, 2015
Bottle. Dark brown with a mocha head. Chocolate and cinnamon bouquet. Maybe a bit below the previous two years. The heat from the chills and coffee dominate. Really muted cinnamon and chocolate notes. The body seems a bit thinner. ctipping (2107) - Florida, USA - JUN 29, 2015
650 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Black. Medium khaki head and a thin collar. Stains the glass a little. Strong coffee aroma. Cinnamon equally strong. A bit of green pepper aroma, too. Coffee dominates the flavor. Spices aren’t far behind. A bit of dark chocolate before a spicy pepper finish. Medium heavy. Coffee seems to mute a bit of the peppers, which I don’t mind.
