Pours jet black, like motor oil. Aroma of coffee, taste of coffee. That’s all there is, loads of good coffee flavor. The rough thing about this is knowing the base beer. This is a solid coffee impy stout but it completely destroyed the base.

Bottle. Dark brown with a mocha head. Chocolate and cinnamon bouquet. Maybe a bit below the previous two years. The heat from the chills and coffee dominate. Really muted cinnamon and chocolate notes. The body seems a bit thinner.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Black. Medium khaki head and a thin collar. Stains the glass a little. Strong coffee aroma. Cinnamon equally strong. A bit of green pepper aroma, too. Coffee dominates the flavor. Spices aren’t far behind. A bit of dark chocolate before a spicy pepper finish. Medium heavy. Coffee seems to mute a bit of the peppers, which I don’t mind.

Bottle pour at CBC2012, from some old notes. Dark black, tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate and cinnamon. Thick in mouth, light carb, viscose. Flavour is rich chocolate, cinnamon, cloves, chilli, spices, coffee grounds. Long finish.

rbrazell (1763) - Florida, USA - AUG 14, 2014
Draft at Westbrook. Pitch black pour with a large chunk brown head that last throughout the whole beer. Massive coffee aroma, very fresh roasted Ethiopian beans, vanilla, cinnamon, spicy peppers, chocolate, earth and bitter cocoa. Thick rich, velvety body that’s packed with huge amounts of coffee, vanilla, spicy cinnamon and habeneros, bitter cocoa nibs, fudge, earth and hazelnuts. So good, so much coffee.
