Draft at Westbrook. Pitch black pour with a large chunk brown head that last throughout the whole beer. Massive coffee aroma, very fresh roasted Ethiopian beans, vanilla, cinnamon, spicy peppers, chocolate, earth and bitter cocoa. Thick rich, velvety body that’s packed with huge amounts of coffee, vanilla, spicy cinnamon and habeneros, bitter cocoa nibs, fudge, earth and hazelnuts. So good, so much coffee.

650ml bottle. This is a special version of this beer with cold-pressed espresso. Black pour. Huge espresso aroma. Flavor has all of the base beer’s components with a heavy hit of espresso in the finish. This is one of the best coffee stouts I have ever had and hopefully they release it in 6 packs sometime. Keg at Beer Temple Amsterdam. Black with tan head. Aroma - strong coffee, ash. Body is medium, smooth, some spritz and more carbonation than I’m used to with the style. Taste - strong sweet coffee, chocolate and chili. So, basically, it tastes of the stuff they threw in with the beer. Didn’t get much cinnamon and vanilla though. On tap. Pours black with a dark-ish brown head. Aroma of malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste is like the aroma but also has a good peppery chilli flavour. Habanero peppers in beers can go either way, but feels balanced here. Starts out sweet but has an intense chili aftertaste...but it works. Full bodied. Great imperial stout.
