Pours a hazy to cloudy sunny golden with a decent off-white head that hangs out a bit and leaves a clumpy ring of lace around the glass. Nose involves soft sweet malt, rye spice, light pine, apricot, and orange juice. Fairly sweet, decently bitter, nice pale ale appropriate balance. Medium bodied, softer carbonation, with a drying herbal spicy finish. Enjoyable, reminds me why I love rye pale ales. Good balance and flavor, and just right strength-wise. Can (Aug 09, 2016 canning).
Head is initially average sized to large, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, lemon oil), with a light note of garlic.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Kind of generic for the style...a bit too sour for my liking, and the nose is pretty ordinary and has some of that "modern hop" (or "modern hop treatment") odor...sort of garlicky. Drinkable but not much better than that. ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 20, 2016
Can. Pours a cloudy golden body with a medium white head. Nose is rye, grains, pale malts, grass, red fruits and hints of straw and white pepper. Taste is white pepper, rye, grass, grains and hints of straw, nuts and red fruits. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Nice and drinkable rye pale ale with some peppery bite. Nice large bright white head of varying sized bubbles. A bit frothy on top. Pale malts, light lemon, mild cheese and believe it or not boiled crabs. Color is a medium gold with great clarity. Light and refreshing with a noticable touch of rye bread, plentiful piney hops, pale malts and lemongrass. Mild alcohol presence. Rather dry palate. Finishes a tad dry and lingering bitterness. Also some rye seeds hang in the flavor for a while. A pretty tasty rye IPA. bergstaden (2992) - Røros, NORWAY - AUG 12, 2016
Golden with a white head - Ctirus hops in the aroma - Malt body to support a hop profile that is fruity and citrus with bitterness - The hop bitterness goes into a fruity dry finish that lasts - This was nice
