Nice brown color, light head. Big vanilla taste, but a short finish. Good approach, but flavor was all in the middle.

22 oz. bottle from Charleston Beer Exchange. Bottled November 1, 2012. Pours a deep, murky, opaque plum-tinted dull mahogany with a small beige head that leaves tiny lace spots. Aroma of vanilla, toasted malts and oak chips, chocolate, dark fruits, candi syrup, and boozy bread. Flavor hits all the same notes, with a little nuttiness. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, chewy mouthfeel that finishes toasty. Good dubbel; not as much vanilla as I’d expected based on earlier ratings. atlrizzob (225) - Aiken, South Carolina, USA - JAN 27, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2013 Dark brown color. Smells of sweet fruit. Tastes of syrup malts and fruit with a hint of vanilla. Its okay I’m just not a Belgian guy. hopdog (13267) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2013
22oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of roast, light vanilla, wood, and some dark fruits. Tastes of vanilla (stronger than the aromas), dark fruits, caramel, chocolate, and some roast. RABinCO (1511) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Bomber. Pours deep brown with a cream head that’s slow to show up. Weak, sweet vanilla aroma. Taste is cloyingly vanilla without any oak notes. Disappointment after a nice string of amazing finds from Westbrook.

The beer is brownish orange with a small, light tan head. The aroma offers malt, apples, light spice, subtle yeast. Smells like adult apple juice. The flavor is quite a bit different, with a lot of brown sugar in addition to apple cider. Alcohol is present throughout, but ot overpowering. Overall, a decent beer but not something I would seek out again.

Bottle... Murky brown ale with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. The bouquet is a successful marriage of Belgiany dark fruits and spices, white oak and vanilla beans. Medium to full-bodied with a slick mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor provides gobs of sticky caramel blended with mocha, dates, figs and oak. Well-balanced. Finishes moderately bitter and roasty with a nice kiss of vanilla. Bottle courtesy of burg326! Strykzone (7807) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - OCT 4, 2012
Saled at anesbls tasting. Dark red brown and opaque. A small tan head is little more than a ring. Big toasty malts in the nose. Chocolate, yeast, malts, fruit all combine. Just a bit of wood. Not bad at all.
