COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is the premier offering in a collaborative series between two South Carolinians—one went to California to make wine, the other stayed home to make beer! We aged this Tripel for 9 months in French oak barrels that were used to mature the 2008 vintage of Whetstone Bella Vigna Pinot Noir. A refermentation in the bottle creates the tiny bubbles that bring this exciting fusion of the brewers’ and winemakers’ crafts to life.

JanLaursen (3226) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2012
Bottle, 75 cl, at Papsø. Almost clear orabge with a small white head. Less oaky aroma than the other two in this series. Yeasty, slightly citric, berrylike nose. Spicy, grapey flavor, slim Pinot noir-feel, restrained notes of berries and oak, very civilized and noble tripel, not that sweet.

Ungstrup (39109) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2012
Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, malt, straw, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, brettanomyces, alcohol, straw, and alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

yespr (49198) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2012
75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is fruity, light phenolic and light caramelish. Solid carbonation. Sweet, light fruity and mild phenolic. Dense carbonated. Dry and phenolic finish.

Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2012
Bottle 75 cl. Bottle #2. Pours a cloudy opaque golden with a white head. Spicy, dry woody aroma. Medium body, excessive carbonation, a very dry fruitiness and again this very sharp oakiness with some tannins leading to a dry and sharp finish. Again the Westbrook overcarbonation is extremely annoying. 270812

pnesbit (111) - Marietta, South Carolina, USA - AUG 3, 2012
Pours an unclear Orange amber with a thick long lingering sticky head. Noise of big dry wood with subtle white grape, grapefruit and citrus notes. Taste start with a sweet fruit mostly citrus that leads into a slight hop bitter. Med heavy body with a surprisingly light feel from the carbonation that leads into a dry finish with a linger of hop bitter and a light dry grape finish with a warmth of the ABV. Over all a great beer for both beer and wine conossures.

750ml bottle poured a dark orange color with some amber highlights, aromas of light wood, yeast, grapes, light wine, and some pepper. Flavors are the same, blended nicely with some wheat thrown in.

Bottle. High fluffy and long lasting white head. Cloudy amber body. Oranges lemon grapefruit wood dry and dusty aroma. Powerful body with a bitter sweet fruity citrus flavor and a solid body. Very well balanced with a suitable alcohol level in combination with a nice hops bitterness. Relatively high carbonation and a long bitter and dry finish.

Color, brown, rusty red with a white foamy head. Nose, red apples, pineapple, fresh crisp blueberries, yellow apples, nail polish, green apples, honeymelon, strawberries, strawberry jam. Taste, just had a dinner with onion sallad, can only taste onion. Very complex nose, and it goes very well with food, but rate it before you eat dinner. :) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
