Taylor is the fourth installment in our "Bearded Farmer" series of saisons. In keeping with the farmhouse brewing tradition, the idea here is to brew each successive beer a little (or a lot) differently than the ones before it. Taylor is brewed with a large percentage of rye and wheat malts, moderately hopped with Tettnanger and Pride of Ringwood hops, and fermented with a blend of farmhouse saison and brettanomyces yeasts.

Bottle from Metro Wines, Syston. Sunset yellow, loads of froth. I’m slightly weary of Saisons, but this one revived my interest for sure. Lovely tartness, great grainy yeast. Deep rich funk. Some baked fruit too. Happily chugged a 750 of this, while listening, incredulously, as LCFC’s title rivals stuttered somewhat. It’s an incredible season. Good Saison too.

Bottle shared at the Cafe Abseits tasting during the Bamberg Excursion. Big thanks to Fergus! Pours cloudy gold-yellow with a foamy white topping. Very nice beer. Some pleasant poopy brett notes. Great balance. Light sweetness. Light to medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Light brett in the finish, mild sweet wheat, further poo notes. Good funky saison.

Hazy, milky yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is a mix of yeast, pepper, orange and biscuit malt. The flavor is much the same with a bit of tartness added in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

On tap @ Erzbierschof. Hazy golden color with big white head and nice lacing. Funk, lemon, hay. Taste is sweet-fruity, a hint of funk and tartness, and a not even that dry finish with a bit of cookie dough/bread. Carbonation is smooth, silky mouthfeel. Nice, but I would have liked it a bit drier and a bit tarter.

Notes of wood, funk, bread, hay, grass, citrus, orange blossom. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, very tasty

Bottle... Murky pear-colored pour with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aromatic highlights are sweet red apples and fuzzy peaches. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and vibrant carbonation. Tangy, bready and lightly bitter flavor and finish. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!
