Bottle dated 08.15. Toasted malt and cheese and onion aromas, slighty butyric. Chestnut brown body with a moderate, loose white head. Medium bitterness with a touch of sweetness and sourness. Nuttiness. Soft carbonation and dry texture. Lasting bitter-sweet finish. Full body, Very well-balanced and drinkable strong ale. Would pair well with strong-flavoured foods like a mature cheese

Bottle at home. Pours amber brown in colour. Quite lively out of the bottle with a large off-white head that settles to a good, small collar of foam. The sediment did not kick up on the pour. Not much aroma, all I got was biscuit malt, maybe some fruit. Some sweetness to start on the taste, then a lot of bitterness. Rich mouthfeel with sweet fruit and malt and peppery hop. Long dry finish with a yeast background. A good, strong, bitter beer.

500ml bottle. Coppery amber coloured with a large foamy off-white head. Fruity hoppy malty nose. Flavour is bready malt, toffee, caramel, tangy & earthy, with dried fruits, hops and some bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Very drinkable

Cask at the Wharf. A creamy off-white to light beige head sis on to of a clear, amber body. Some curtains show up after a while. Mostly fruity on the nose, a touch of liquorice shows up, along with a hint of roasted malts and some dried apricots. Medium body, quite a lot of carbonation for a cask beer, still soft. Liquorice, some roasted malts and quite a lot of fruitiness in the flavour. Dried apricots, some notes of raisins and a little citrusy hint too. Pleasant bitterness, both initially and in the end. Certainly a nice one, could readily drink a few of these. 120816

Pours a clear dark amber with a small creamy off-white head. Malty burnt caramel and fruitcake (brandy and fruit) aroma. Sweet malty beginning followed by burn’t brandy soaked raisins with a long mellow bitter finish. A very nice pint, I think I’ll have another.

[5/12/12] Cask at Charlie’s Bar in Copenhagen. Clear amber. Earthy hops aroma with some somewhat toasty malt. Flavor has some mellow maltiness, a bit bready and toasty, with a bit of sweetness at first, but quickly turns bitter and hoppy, earthy and citric, to create a mouth-drying finish. Silky mouthfeel. Very nice.
