COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Status uncertain.
We have launched a new session bitter, Finchcocks Original, using hops from the Finchcocks hop garden in Goudhurst, Kent. Bill Calcutt is a fourth generation hop grower who has recently bucked the trend of closing hop gardens. He has tied up Ian Ibbotson of Lupofresh in Yalding, Kent to replant Finchcocks with the wonderful aroma hops that real breweries like Westerham demand. Bill’s top quality WGV and Early choice hops give a wonderful citrusy and earthy tang to this fully flavoured bitter.

Cask at the Prince of Wales near Battersea Park. Light golden coloured bitter. I was rather thirsty after football and this slipped down quite easily - have to say though it was somewhat forgettable in terms of flavour. Was there a bit of hop flavour? Maybe, but muted.

cask @ The Coopers . Rochester. This is pleasant and goes down fast but mundane somewhat. I had a great day @ the store (small business owner) and celebrated doing my bit for the economy .. sank down like 3 of these in 20 minutes .

Golden with a small fruity aroma and a head only around the rim. No bitterness.

Cask at the Wharf. A clear, golden colored beer with a minimal sized off-white head. Citrus peel and some biscuity maltyness in the aroma. The flavor has some bitterness, as well as citrus peel, pale malts and hints of biscuits. Medium body, soft carbonation. A quenching and quaffable one, but rather boring even if it was just a half pint sample. 111008
